'87 4runner bought in August '23 out of Colorado stock and drove it the 2k miles home with the . Bought it to keep miles off the truck and told myself i would do a couple inch lift on and leave it alone. Then a Black Friday deal on the SAS kit came up....

Found a photo album from my early 20s when I lived in Cali.
Pictures of my 83 before it got TJ springs and heavy duty shackles. Taken in 2001, got orders to korea in 2002 and had to sell it.

This is/was a ’72 Datsun 620, originally 2WD. Back about 1980/81 I converted it to 4WD. Dana 44 diffs, Dana 20 XFer case
Brakes were poor (had a vacuum leak on the booster somewhere) as was the suspension.
Sold it for almost a 90% loss on what I put into it after I bought a Scout II for $500 and the Scout was a much better rig than what I had created.
Should have got a Land Cruiser instead.

i pretty much learned to drive stick in a 4wd 620. I still love the lines of these rigs.

What model of bead grips are those? In my limited research I couldn't find any bead grips that fit the toyota axles...

mines a '86 4runner I've had for about 2 years. Was built sometime in the 2000s best that I can tell. I overpaid for it... as I think 90% of people over pay for Toyotas in all honesty. Had good bones and ran and drove.

22re w56 Marlin Crawler 4.7 single case. Homemade SAS, replaced leaf springs with 3" lift skyjacker soft ride front and OME 2" lift rear springs with 1.25" lift shackle. 35x13.5 R15 on some kind of deep dish 15x10 or 15x12. axles are out of a '84 or '85. 5.29s lunch box in the front, put in RCV chromolys after I exploded a stock shaft, rebuilt the front axle (axle seals were missing entirely), replaced the rear with a V6 third 5.29s Yukon grizzly locker, homemade sliders, trail gear rear bumper, bare front winch mount put on a Badlands 12K synthetic, LED lights, softopper, somewhere in the neighborhood of 300k miles. stock brakes that I replaced most of the components. not to mention a whole laundry list of preventative maintenance.

I love driving this thing and I get thumbs up everywhere I go... I'd have a fleet of these mini trucks if I was a rich man.
