After I had the ARB locker installed I noticed that the heat is hard to control. Even with AC compressor on and temp. in the 70s on thermostat it is hot as hell. I was talking to regular mechanic who did not install the locker and he said they might have messed up a blend door. Anybody have any experience or knowledge about blend doors.

apologies for the question - i always ask if i dont know - ...wheres the heat coming from? The lockers? And does the heat somehow transfer into the 'cruiser?
[edit] ok temp might be from a blend door. NFI about that one either!
thanks in advance

. . . be careful driving between Marysville and Lake Mountain . . . a big male deer (stag?) decided to run out from the bush in front of me . . . His antlers/horns were taller than the LC100 . . . His back (height wise) was half way up the door glass height. peter
:eek::eek::eek:

I ride my Ducati up that road fairly often. Did it only last week.
I wouldn't want something like that jumping out in front of me on the bike! In the truck I might have a chance, but on the bike . . .

The visibility is very good now, with all the trees dead and still little undergrowth, and with little feed the deer which survived the fires seem to have moved closer to the city. One rider had one jump in front of him at Warrandyte recently. But nothing like that size.

Just to keep on topic: A buck that big will break your truck. :crybaby:

fek on a bike! i love the Ducati sound....nice mechanical sound...like some of the supercharged drag cars, but with a nice exhaust!
yeah i finally went up to marysville before christmas. been resisting it as i had great memories there. the devastation is immense. It was hard for me cruising down the hill. I ended up turning left at the roundabout and heading up to Thornton. And lo and behold there was a golf day there which i didnt know about.
anyway.
the deer.
been on a track that i've been on many times, one of the feeder tracks to the Ada Tree (cant remember now...bourbons...wasnt the New Turkey Spur track, but one up there..PM if you want...i'll get it for you) and so i come round a corner and there's this deer, a female (doe?). so i stop. it looks at me like...yeah, meh. so i put it into first and crawl up to it...it didnt care.
So we both got bored and i accelerated off, no camera...that same day this UFO landed and and and....and i bought a digital SLR the week later.

hehe I did buy the camera and various pics on here/gallery etc are from that!

if you want to go offroading let me know! i have great knowledge of many tracks in the East Warburton area and also coming in from Noojee and Neerim South.
cheers
peter

Thanks for the offer Peter. I'm just doing some repairs on my truck to make it off road worthy again, but will keep you in mind when I'm ready to get out there.

I think the Bull has better protection.

:hmm: :idea: maybe since the combo has upper bar work to protect headlights and such?

lol. let me know if you get snow up there tomorrow morning, and supposed to snow Wednesday/thursday. If so, I'll be up there!

I'd say its not the part around the headlights that helps with the strength, its that the center part is mounted in several places, welded in and aint supposed to be removed. The sahara's little hoop, obviously comes off. Probably ok for a child or three, but a big animal might cause some damage.

Yea - I meant combo bar :doh:
It is 15 degrees right now, supposed to get some snow tomorrow...

Can I get away with my 860's for now, or should I get some stiffer springs as front and rear bumpers will be en route soon???

Loud.... I agree with you... I've now had both ARB bumpers on my vehicles (ARB Combo on my 80 and ARB Sahara on my 100) and there is no comparison regarding structural rigidity and strength. The Sahara is flexible enough (think thin metal) that I can grab one corner and pull it and flex it. There is no way I could "flex" my old ARB Combo bumper. I purchased my 100 with the Sahara, but if I was to have the choice, I would purchase the ARB Combo instead, because it is much more beefy!

Got a couple of boxes from Crutchfield (and a few other places) today... :D:D Will be doing a navi/DVD/BT/XM install with rear view camera and overhead DVD monitor next week... pics to come... Picked up a Kenwood DNX6140 on the cheap. Merry Christmas to the cruiser!

:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Well, the install didn't happen as soon as I thought it would, but it's finally in. I'm just buttoning up some loose ends and should be done tonight. Sooooo much better than the OEM system. I'll post up a thread when I get all the pics and info organized.

:D

I was kind of bored...

It was raining out so I decided to powder coat my stock wheels.... I wanted to do white but I only had ruby red and flat black..... Didn't want to go to the powder store to get the white because I didn't want to go out in the rain. I snapped shots from the front and rear :p

I've seen it all. Are you a Garage419/The Smoking Tire show fan? I mean my friends got wheels painted the same way on his red C5 vette....help me out here I don't understand.

Never heard of Garage419???? I'm sure they look nice on the c5 my buddy just got them done on his new 911 turbo.... look really nice!

Also, my x-lady had them done to her stock cl65amg rims & they where the bees-knees. (kind of regret not having a lock on my iphone or smart enough to delete my text message history....stupid text messages! Cause I really miss beatin' the sh*t out of that car, doin donuts in the walmart parking lot at 4am after getting some taco bell... which ended up all over the interior, from doin' the reverse whip arounds and e-brake turns)

It only took 4 hours to do. My bud bead blasted for a #2 off the mcdonalds menu...large sized of course. I had some free time on my hands for MLK day.

Honestly, I wanted to do white where the black is and black where the red is but since it was raining I said F-it and went along with what I had on hand. I really just wanted to try out a new powdered protective clear hard coat..... supposedly chip resistant, hahaha I'll be testing that out.
