Seeing those pictures makes me want to hit a bank so I can get mine up to speed. Thanks for sharing the process and letting me know how mine will look down the road. (Stickers arrived but I haven't been able to get them installed. Thanks!)

It helps not being married and having no kids! My only real expense besides basic living is the stupid amount of money I throw at this thing haha.

Glad you got the stickers! As far as I know, we will be the only 100's rocking them.

That's one great looking Cruiser!
Just one suggestion, the drain hole in the air filter housing is there for a reason... when you make a deep water crossing some condensation might build in there or some very small amount of water might manage to get in through some of the various fittings, if it does not have a drain hole, every little amount that comes in with several river crossings will add up until eventually it might be a larger amount that can present a problem.... With the snorkel, specially the the Safari with the front facing inlet, a little amount of water will get in the air filter housing when you are going through hard rain is insignificant as long as it has somewhere to drain to.
The little hole is not an issue when doing deep water crossings as long as you don't stop, and even then the water should be pretty high to get to where it would enter through the hole and you'd have to keep the engine on while submerged for a longish period of time.

How about an alternative by installing a one way valve for the hole where if anything accumulates in the airbox it will still drain yet even if you do have to stop or slow down in large water crossings, no water will be able to enter into the box from the bottom?

Interesting. I was under the impression that any moisture that got in there would be small and evaporate pretty quickly. I'll keep an eye on the box after a big rain and see if any water builds up.

I don't know if such a thing exists.

I've seen other ads in a different thread but is this the snorkel you ordered? 1998-2007 Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Series Black Air Intake Snorkel System Kit | eBay

It was thins exact one. Toyota Land Cruiser 100-Series 98-07 Lexus LX470 Black Air Snorkel System Kit | eBay

I made sure to find the one with the Land Cruiser writing in the picture so there wasn't any guessing if it would have it or not.

Thank you, I just ordered one. We'll see how this turns out..

I have not taken the airbox off for awhile but if there was room under neath it the idea would be to somehow attack a check valve to the bottom. Just an idea

Added some amber 55w hella 500ff driving lights to the front bumper. I initially wanted some lightforces but then thought about the fact that the first thing to get stolen off the truck would likely be the lights. So far I have less than $120 invested in all the lights themselves.

They cast a pretty far beam, much further than the LED light bar. It seems even led spots or driving lights can't cast light very far.

The LX is looking great! Regarding the drain hole in the airbox, when I installed my snorkel, I just plugged the hole with a screw and some sealant. You should be checking the airbox after a deep water crossing anyway, so it's easy to just pop the screw out from inside the box and drain it if any water does collect. I've never had issues with significant amounts of rainwater making it into the airbox through the snorkel, though. The channels around the head seem to do their job.

Thanks! That's essentially my thoughts as well. Even driving in a major storm for a long time, I cant imagine much water accumulating in the box. If it does, It will likely evaporate off quickly based on the amount of airflow over the surface. I'll report back when I drive in a big rain, which here, might take a year or so.

I'm about to take my stock AHC suspension LX from your neck of the woods to Moab. What trails did you end up liking best? Did you make any good side trips on the way?

Also, your pictures (especially with the dogs) helped sell my wife on a rooftop tent, so thanks for that!

We only did one trail. That trip was for my GF's birthday so we did more hiking/sight seeing. The trail we did was called hidden overlook trail. It was a really awesome trail but was hard to follow at points. I highly suggest getting a trail book. We got this one:

Great looking 100

What are the dimensions of your light bar?

I got a list that will help drain your bank account. :D

so far, what I have left is:

Water tank with platform for fridge
Fridge
Rear bumper (being built by Ben)
Hi-lift
Trasharoo
A couple jerry cans

I guess after all that, it will be time to regear and get some lockers. Not sure where else I could go after that though. Maybe upgrade the suspension but I'm pretty happy with the AHC how I have it setup. Maybe by then, it will be non-functioning.

I think it's time for an SAS! That would definitely take up any time or money you have burdening you. I feel like that's really the only thing left that you haven't done

I came from the Jeep world so a SAS is the last thing I want to do. I cherish highway comfort and stability much more than articulation for this expedition build. I may one day build a crawler out of an old yota truck, but that will have to wait until I own a house and can modify the garage to accommodate tools.

The only logical thing I see is to buy a 40 and start over.

That said I've been going over your drawers again and wondered about how you decided where to mount the bearings. I can see they aren't really evenly spaced on the top or bottom (I think so at least). Did you just wing it on those or did you read something that explained it? The other thing is that it looks like the drawers go right to the back of the 2nd row. Did you consider backing that off a bit to have a "trunk" space (somewhere to stow a rifle) or would you think there was enough of a gap to mount something maybe 2 or 3 inches on that back cap? I have the guts of my ham radio mounted in the CD changer space but would move it and re-install the changer if there was a decent place to do that.

Wish you were joining us this weekend in S. Utah so I can go over your stuff in person and ask all my questions there.
