I have a 73, 12/72 build that is currently torn apart and all the brake lines removed. I won't be getting it back together anytime soon so if you need a set for templates let me know and I can box them up and mail them to you. Should cover the 71-75 piece that you are missing.

YES!! That would be great. Hopefully that will make more 40 owners in need happy. PM me the details and I'll get you the shipping address and any trade deal you want to see up. I hope these are in good shape and I can get accurate patterns from them.

Thanks for the offer. It just might make a difference!

PM Sent. I don't know why I couldn't attach pictures in the conversation but can here. Lines viewed left to right are:
Rear brake passenger frame line.
Front brake from MC.
Rear brake from MC across firewall.
Rear axle for drums.
Front axle for drums (the worst of the lines, extra kinks than original)

Here you go guys, just a little something I put together to help some of you. Wether or not you're using my lines this may be of some help putting all those lines back on your truck. This is a not-to-scale roughly done piece that may come in handy. I hope so.

Forever hunting down information I can use to help out more years of trucks, I think I've found a little bit more info. Tell me if I'm wrong but it appears that the long line to the rear along the chassis (CHL) is the same for 7/70 up to 9/75 as it is from my kit. That would actually mean 7/70 to '84. I also believe the rear axle's long line (RAL) from 9/71 to 9/75 are the same as the late models. That makes it RAL-9/71-84.

Can anyone verify this info?

I have a 78 and a 71 and i can tell you that they are very close if not the same. The T-fitting for the 1971 is smaller than the one on the 78. The line may need to be a half an inch longer. I'm not home to measure though.

Edit: im talking about line CHL

Thanks fellas. I'm betting that's good enough to say they are the same. Making a small difference wouldn't make any sense. I'll update the charts as soon as I get a chance.

Small news bulletin:
I have ordered 5/16" and 1/4" NiCopp lines for the chassis fuel lines and now for the hard line that goes from the charcoal canister to the center of the tub. It's 1/4" tubing although I don't know why. @shipmag left me his canister hard line to pattern from. Without the truck here it will most likely be just like the original line. So now all the lines I have available will now be matching in NiCopp gold.

Okay. I've got the stubs all together and boxed. I may get by the PO when I go out to vote.

Easy. Just post your question...

It looks like you have a '77 FJ40. I can make you a full set or partial. Whichever you want.
Next up is what material you want. NiCopp or steel.
Then pick full threaded nuts or stepped nuts.
(I can make suggestions for both of those based on what you have and/or are building.)
You're in Des Moines so I'm guessing I'll need to ship these to you. That means if you need both firewall lines, I suggest a union in both lines for ease and cost effective shipping.

Rather than having to post over and over to have the list of parts here at the end of the thread, I've posted the list on the first page. The two images are in post #3. Costs and year availability. Your truck looks like it's smack dab in the middle of what I offer.

You can repost here or PM me.

Pet your boxer for me...

Great! I'll PM you. Wish I could pet the boxer, she died earlier this year. But I gave her brother a pat on the head. Thanks for taking on this task for the cruiser community!

If it wasn't for bad luck...

I'm still dead in the water. I received the new coils of NiCopp today. Having to return them because they're dull and very brown. That and the fact that my order of gold fully threaded nuts are hung up some where. I was planning on catching up this weekend but no....

...cramp!

Well, maybe you can catch up a little. I picked these up for Rainman today. Hopefully they will be the right color. I think they are better than the batch you have. Good thing is - Rainman really cares about form AND function.

YES! Back in business.

Here's @djcfj40 's kit. Complete with the first pair of NiCopp chassis fuel lines. I should be good to go now that my material inventory has caught up. I had two shipments that had to be returned because of bad product. That's bad biz. It kept me down for nearly 3 weeks. But I'm up and running again.

Order away!

I'll admit I didn't read the entire thread, but have you considered making these out of stainless steel (tubing and nuts)? My thought is if I'm going to the time, trouble and expense of replacing all these lines I'd like to do it once; with the best material available.
