Finally got this thing back together, I had to as I'm packing to move and I didn't want to risk losing any parts. Check it out:

Use a Marlin rebuild kit, all new bearings, seals, etc. Now I just gotta get the t-case done. I have a 4.7 kit to install in that.

That looks like s***. Drop it off on your way thru and I'll finish it up for you. :grinpimp:

Sweet, dude! Can't find a 151 here. :crybaby:

R151's rock. Can't wait to get mine installed ... still.

I had to buy an entire truck and part it out to get this tranny. It was DISGUSTINGLY dirty, caked with mud and goop, lots of corrosion.

Pulled everything apart, took all the cases to a local tranny shop where they ran them thru their washer for me, got all the gunk off. Then I took them down to a buddie's house, traded an old busted W56 to use his bead blaster cabinet. Painted a coat of Rustoleum primer, then a couple coats of Rustoleum "Brushed Nickel" paint.

Oddly enough, even with 180K on it, the synchros were perfect, looked brand new. Even the bearings looked really nice. Makes me think it had been apart prior. I still rebuilt it all anyway.

Once I get the t-case done and mounted I might shoot a coat of clear on it. Just trying to protect it from the weather attacking it again.

x2 It's so silky smoove looking, sooooo shiny. :)

Almost a shame to hide it under a truck. You'll have to put allot of lift and huge tires so it can be seen.;)
