Pablo,

I spoke too soon. One has a chip out of it, upper left corner. I'm not sure if I want to mess with them. Seems to be a water leak, waiting to happen.

If you have some time, could you post the inner parts.

Front grilles are another area of concern. I'll need to block off both sides, I have three open grilles and one solid.

Delancy,

As far as the front, that vent is needed for the heater blower. On mine, I'm going with an aftermarket AC/Heater, so I don't need them. I just like the look of the vents.

On the back, I'm not so sure them help much, but I have no knowledge, one way or the other.

Welding up body holes, tends to lead away from stock.

Given their location, they may help to vent vapor from inside the panels. I wouldn't weld them up, but part of that is just for looks.

A question regarding both the front and rear vents.

If the opportunity presented itself to weld solid, would if be recommended?

Front?

Rear?

front isn't vented on all models. some heaters draw from the inner apron and have a solid grill, others are open slot grill and draw from outside the apron.

rear helps with cab pressurization

My '74 has front vent pulls on both sides...

So, I got it backwards. The older models didn't have the vent pulls. I'm just going by my two, you never with these things.

I always liked the kick vents in my 40 and M37, kept my feet cooled off.

Yep, I will get a pic of the inner duct work!

Pablo,

In the spirit of good will going around the group, would you like to trade me. If I did decide to use the vents, I would paint them anyway.

So, your set for mine and shipping on you, got a deal?

Sounds like a plan!

I sent you a PM...

I don't know much about no restoration of those plastic vents...I just rub mine up against a big rock. That way they match my door handles.
