Hi all,

I'm new to the site, but it seems like an awesome community.

I bought an 1992 PZJ77 last year and imported to California, but due to a misunderstanding of the laws at the time was unaware that I had to have it pass the CARB.

I am hesitant to spend money on emissions adjustments. It would pile on costs to address the rust/rot in the chassis/ frame. The body and wheel wells have some damage too. The engine is in good condition though.

I'm not really a gear head myself, so I'm considering selling the vehicle and getting something else down the road that's CA state legal and less of a project car. Any thoughts?

It kinda sounds like you don't want a project car, so I think you already know the answer?

Californication of an import like that costs $10k+ and ironically doesn't seem to really require any emissions mods. Just testing at the one company that has the state granted monopoly.

I'd move to Arizona and keep it personally. You can become a gearhead over time. If you want to.

Hopefully the purchase price wasn't too bad, considering the body/frame stuff you mentioned. And hopefully you can sell it for what you paid if not a bit more.
