You don't need to get things like mini truck parts from me Matt. You have so many more economical sources.

I mean, thanks and I appreciate you wanting to buy parts from me, but I would be doing you a disservice by not recommending a more economical source...

Call me in when you need the serious work of the build... Party time at the new ranch! ;)

Yeah bro!

I'd rather keep the steelies too, but I do tend to over think things from time to time. Guess I need to start hunting for some welded oem steelies with the clips, or call Onur and sell some plasma to get a set of them fancy ones he peddles.

Yeah bro!

You carry the TT axle kits for the minis don't you? Besides, I don't know what all I'm gonna need. Thing I'm most worried about is the shims for the caps.

Like I mentioned, it's torn down and I am pretty sure I'm gonna need a full set of shims to get the knuckles set up properly.

Yeah. Got it. @wct49 and @offr0adlim0 also have it too if you want to spread the support across the group. ;)

Call me in for the s*** like 87240-60010 or 96940-33805 or 42601-60072 (x5)...

Don't get new rims if you are gonna do the end goal we discussed by tele.

A way overthought thing those shims.

Steelies and caps are very reasonably priced new. Not sure what you and Beno discussed but if you are looking to make this a Crawler, triple your budget.

I'm at about $14,000 in mine.....my acquisition cost was $3500 more than yours but at the rate you are going you need to keep that in mind. Building a 40 is expensive.

Figure I'll be hitting up @wct49 for some springs and shocks at some point, but gotta nail that down.

End game is not a crawler, but budget is probably gonna run loose too as momma is getting to make calls on some aspects and her taste are much richer than mine. Example, I found a nice set of Corbeau seats that I can get for a good price. I sent her a picture of the ones the FJ Company did for that copperstate rig to try to sell her on them, and the response I get is, I like those, so we're going to have the ones you found recovered in leather like that, right? And then we can have the jump seats covered to match.... Uhh.... Sure. So we will end up with something like this...

End game is to be a nice rig with some modern touches (power steering, EFI, disc brakes, maybe even AC) with an old feel (not gonna do much with the paint and body) to just cruise around in, run the dirt devil and explore the back roads on the weekends in. I got a feeling I will be in it deep by the time I'm done, but swallowing $10k+ a bite at the time has always been easier for me than laying it out in a big stack of green.

And I'm gonna look up those part numbers so I can see what the ones that aren't x5 are ;)

Ordered headlights from @Racer65 today. Won't need them for a while, but needed to buy something. He has some awesome little trinkets on his page, bookmarked it.

Almost got one of his fuse blocks too, but figured I'd save that for next time I need to feed the need.

I've gotten a lot of stuff from him. It's all really high quality and on point.

Cowl vent gasket, cowl drain hoses, fuse block, brake prop valve.....

I have one of his inner light globes that you might need. He's out. $35 shipped.

Good source for a replacement rear sill? And are they really $400?!?! The one on H.D. was cut out ahead of me taking possession so it is on the To-Do list.

I bought mine for $260ish IIRC. Fleabay.

Well I'm still not sure exactly where everything will live in the interim, but I started unloading the trailer this afternoon.

Axles, motor(s) and trans/t-case are all off the trailer. Only thing left on the trailer is the body and frame. Have to do a little shuffling and find a good spot for the tub to live for now.

I also looked to motor over after I got it back on the stand and while the valvetrain looks good under the cover, the intake and exhaust runners are pretty corroded and the water pump has been gone for a good while and the passages in the front of the block and head are showing some corrosion as well, so I'm gonna just go ahead and tear it down and check the insides out and will likely just do a full rebuild on it while I got it apart. Build a good long block for the AFI setup to bolt up to. Last thing I want is to get it all back together and then have to jerk a motor out that's took a dump on the first drive.

Anyway, here's what's left to find a home for.

And here is where the rear axle and the boat anchor ended up.

And the motor, trans and front axle got homes in the back corner of the barn.

Took a page out of @wngrog's playbook on moving things around. Getting the motor back vertical was a trick but after that all good.

So tomorrow I will be doing the junk shuffle to make a place for the tub to occupy and a place for the hood, fenders and such to live.

Hope to get the frame off for blasting next weekend if all goes well along with getting an initial list of needed parts together.

Hahaha, yeah I know, but they will sit in that box just fine til they are needed. Hell, after today I'm not even certain that I have a harness to plug them into, burnt, cut-up or otherwise.... I'm also a self proclaimed parts hoarder. That's a spare 3FE and trans sitting beside the 2F on the stand. I currently have all the best tractor motors offered within a few feet of each other. :D
