Had some free time Saturday, added a front crossbar and angle bars to the bed cage finished welding everything up. I wil get it cleaned up and painted today. Started boxing in the new upper shock plates and bar. We're expecting rain all week so I need to get as much done as I can today and tommorow. Parts are still coming in and I have some Great local help. Wednesday I'll get all the driveshaft parts together and drop them off to get built. Seats and harness brackets are ready to get welded in. Thanks everyone for all the support

Awesome!

Getting lots of small things done in the shop because of the rain this week. Finished cutting and drilling the lift blocks for the bed, re drilled the holes in the FJ62 3rd flanges, got the seat frames bolted up and in place for welding and started mocking up the harness to get the tabs welded in. Shocks are ordered and should be here by Jan 5, Today should be a nice day and I can get the bed cage painted

No where near enough room to make them fit in the rear. This was a better option AccuTune Off road in El Cajon CA did a pre tune based on the 45 (Weight, Travel and such ) during KOH we will get some pre running in and they offered a free re tune to get them dialed in.

Mint 400 Update. The weather here has really slowed down my progress. I am still pushing to have the truck driving by King of the Hammers ( less than 3 weeks ) Most of the big parts are here its just getting everything put together, welded and fine tuned. I had to completly rebuild everything on the steering, re adjust shackle angles, figure out my shock mount heigth and drive line lenghts. The goal is still build a race truck that can take the 200 miles the Mint 400 has to offer and finish. Big shout out to our Sponsor Koritas Tire for hooking me up with these Mickey Thompson Baja legend tires and my wife for letting me store them in the house until I can make room in the shop LOL

We had a Great time. Saved us 40 minutes of drive time picking up the extra rims. She's in San Diego right now picking up a few things LOL Plus she gets to visit her sister for a few days so Win Win. We got the driveshafts back Tuesday front fits perfect and the rear could work but for peace of mind @cruiseroutfit Cruiser Outfitters another one of our Amaizing Sponsors is hooking us up with a new 8 inch slip yoke. I also swapped the old fan blade out with a newer 8 blade fan, I had to space it forward about an inch to clear so it should work. @cruiserbrett and working on a few things for our lights using this 4Plus bumper I had

Very cool. There is a care package headed your way from Michigan today;)

Still plugging away in between rain storms, fuel cell tray and straps done. Just need to do some trimming and clean up the corners

The rain storms have let with up so yesterday I finished the front end and very happy with everthing. Ride heigth for the shocks is 21 inches so I cut some 1 1/2 in tubing to that measurement and started mocking up the rear shock mounts. I was able to get both shock mounts so my shocks are only angled back 5 degrees. All the big stuff is here and its just getting everything bolted, welded and painted. I would guess there is about 5 hours of welding left and clean up. Its still a big pusg to get the 45 driving and get as much race weight finished before King of the Hammers so we can get out and do some pre running and shock tuning. If the weather holds and my body doesnt shut down I think we will be in good shape LOL

I was looking at some Old KOH photos I think this was from 2015. I hope we get a chance to meet up at the Mint

Yes, I already booked my trip. I am not racing but will be out to watch. I plan to look you up! Truck is coming along, Hope you get it drivable by KOH, that will be a good area to go out and test it.

Yesterday was a Great day, Hand tools and good weather we finished the rear shock mounts. After talking to FC and a great phonebook story I bent and cut plates to strap the upper and lower shock mounts to the crossbar and housing. Anything I can do now to improve our chances of finishing the Mint. Today the goal is install the brake lines, mount the shocks, get our measurements for limiting straps and bump stops. Finish welding up the fuel cell tray and get the bed cage installed. We are looking forward to good weather the next several days so the push is on.
