I know this is a really old post, but my PTO shifter will not work in this arrangement. The shifter itself (at the pivot hole) is too wide to fit between the two stud holes and must be positioned, one side against the hexagonal nut side, and the other with a washer and cotter pin. My assembly is from a 3 speed FJ40.When the pivot is screwed all the way in, the shifter actually fits between the two holes on the outer end of the pivot, with washers on either side and cotter pins in the holes (one cotter shown above).
It’s probably caked with grime. Take an ice pic and poke around straight down from the front bolt on the top plate.
Morphodite of morphodites! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!
How do you even know that you have a PTO gear inside that transfer case?
I have never seen a spacer plate between the transmission case and the transfer case like that.
Or a shift tower that overhangs the top cover.
It looks like there may even be a bead weld all the way around the base of the tower.
There is no mounting point for the Toyota PTO shifter on this tranny. You will have to fabricate something. Using the top plate bolts seems to be the most reasonable approach.Anybody knows where to put the bolt for the pto shifter
Find a 3 or 4 speed transmission from an FJ40.
Do a search online you will find them. Search forklift suppliers also.Do any of you know any replacement for this oil seal, its not available on my local toyota dealer

This was from when I replaced my seal on the rear output shaft. I think I just removed the four bolts and pushed out the old seal and pressed in the new one. I can’t remember the exact procedure but it was not difficult. It’s been a long hot summer in South Georgia but the weather has been on the cooler side recently so I’m going in Montina’s pto to replace the rear seal. It came apart pretty easily since it has been smothered in gear oil. Took the seal up to the local carquest and found a possible replacement and a cutout paper gasket. The seal is all rubber so will give it a try to see if it will work.View attachment 3706085
