Get a nice dust collector, save your lungs and helps with clean up time.
I got that covered. Jet DC-1100RC, 1.5 hp, converted to run on 240V.

And this to catch any of the fine airborne stuff that the DC doesn't get:

So another Vintage Craftsman tool box stack (3/74 date of mfg) followed me home last night:

Crappy Michigan weather today, so no pressure washing in the driveway until later this week...

Both have keys, but I had an extra made for each. Drawers all slide good, but both boxes, need a good cleanup and Teflon lube. I was really wanting the 6 drawer upper box, and would have paid the price I paid for both, just to get the upper. The chevron logo for the top box is MIA, but I'm going to take the one off the lower and use it for the upper. Probably going to sell the 9 drawer lower, as I already have two of them in the wall:

So I decided to keep the 9 drawer lower (for now). It went through a thorough cleanup, and some rust converter. I touched up only the major rusted sections (top/bottom, lower sides). The 6 drawer top went through a bit more extensive resto, as I sanded/rust prepped/painted the entire case. The upper drawers were is decent shape, so I just cleaned them up. The lowers had a bit more rust, but they cleaned up decent. I'm okay with how the lower turned out. And it may go for sale, if I acquire a 7 drawer + bay lower in the future. Or the ultra rare 12 drawer upper/lower combo.

Pics of the finished boxes:

The lower is missing the logo, as the upper didn't have it, so I swapped it. If I could find a really junk box with the correct logo, I'd buy it just for the logo.

Here's how it looks on my 'wall of Craftsman':

I really need to get another lower for one of my 2 drawer uppers, but that might take a bit to find the best one. There are a few 3 drawer + bay lowers for sale, but I'd rather have another 5 drawer + bay, or the missing 7 drawer + bay. We'll see. I'm already pushing the patience of my wife....

Got some help to get my mantle set.

5” thick aged Oak. Not crazy heavy I guess at 300+lbs for the top piece, but awkward.

I think I'm going to tear apart the trunk again and line the spare tire well.

Next is lining whole floor, fire wall, and roof. It will probably end up better than my 80's but similar. Two way Focal 6x9's will go in the back deck and two way Focal 5 1/2 in the door lowers, additional Focal tweets in the factory upper location, Alpine deck with Alpine amp. Should be finished Monday or so when items come in.

Awesome, be careful. You're starting to inspire me to do something hat I don't need to do.

Oh, I hope that you are wearing some type of thin felt or cotton gloves. That stuff will cut up your hands as you get a good seal near the edges.

Glad I ate my Wheaties, that driver seat was a heavy pig. I thought for a second on driving to work on a folding chair, but came to my senses lol. The factory foam and rear deck insulation is pretty damn good from factory, but it is definitely going to get better. The floor sounds like a tin can if you flick it. The nest of wires by the right rear seat is an add on back up sonar system PO installed. I will clean that up.
