Id be down, I just wish I could afford the gas for a 4000 mile trip. I hope to have some progress shots in a little while, I have been having some trouble with my DD and its been taking up a lot of time.

Hate to say it but I think our ETAs may be similar.. Doh! :(

I hear that. I finally got started on putting the drive train back together, and I am running into some clearance issues between the fj62 case and the h41.

After that is all rebuilt ill start on figuring out about moving the engine back a few inches. After that is all said and done I can bolt everything up, re-seal the engine and fire it up.

At least you have a motor that you know ran before you started screwing around with it :)

There is gonna be a plethora of waggys gettin done at the same time :)

Alrighty been bogged down lately with a run of bad luck in my life that has no allowed me to get any work done on the 62/80..

But, Ive managed to fit in some time after I got my finals out of the way...(only 8 more classes to go and I graduate wahoo)

Anyway, I cleaned and re-sealed the h41 and it looks good. I am stuck on the t-case rebuild til I can find the right spacer for it from an earlier series case. Since this case is newer and normally uses a bearing but with the h41 it requires a spacer I don't have. Ill have to see if anyone did a H55 swap and still has the spacer laying around...

Also got the roof sanded and its first coat of Smoke Grey paint on it. Its the color I decided to two-tone it with. Its coming together...After the holidays I'm going to fab some new motor mounts and move the engine back a few inches...

Ill grab some photos later on today...I think I might have a few of the H41 I can throw up now...nothing special just looks like a normal cruiser tranny though..

Spacer

Hey lowtide,

I think I may have the spacer you need. The OD is aprox 44mm and the ID is aprox 35 mm, and it's 18.5mm wide it has taperd shoulders on both sides. See attached pics. If this is what you need PM me with a shipping address.

what's the deal with the roof? you painted it, it looks like maybe colored truck bed liner or boat deck paint.

Awesome...Ill pull that bumper out for ya.

Project Uranus has been slow going, While I am school full time and work full time I dont have the cash to spend on the parts I need. Summer is around the corner and the project will catch another gear soon....

Stay tuned...

So what's up here? Any updates?

I need some more inspirational pics of cleaned up and painted parts. I'm getting kind of weary of the endless grime and rust I'm facing.
