Oh man, I want those vent style windows in my 79. I hate AC and that vent flipped back is great.
My dad used to have a woodgrain sided 73 Chrysler wagon (440 of course) that had powered vent windows on it so you could smoke like a king.

Our 78 Westfalia has those windows. How to stay cool on the road

I remember growing up as well with those. Even though my parents never smoked, there was always a matchbook in them to keep them tight. 😂
It was kind of an unwritten rule back in the day to NOT mess with the vent windows in someone else's car/truck without express permission. Half the time they would fall apart when they were opened- or the matchbook would fall out! Very similar to the rule of NEVER pulling a parking brake in the rust belt on an unknown vehicle.

The vent windows are a great feature.

So, for the vent window-less Sneeches on the beaches, how does one find said doors? Are they a regional option? Most of my access has been through Canada mine truck stuff

I recall the vent window that wasn’t behind the raised air intake having substantial airflow while the other one was somewhat restricted.

Sadly, the vent window upgrade is only available for single cab and 2 door style 70s.

The 4 door versions are 1.5" shorter than the 2 door, which makes them impossible.

I think the 73/74 series folding windshield guys get the short end of the stick on that aspect too.

Parts are all available brand new still to make it happen, but it's a costly manouver.

You need to drill a few small holes in the door right above the vent window for the brackets,.but otherwise, it's a straight swap.

Changed parts:

Vent window mechanism
Door scrapers inner and outer
Door window glass
Window regulator
Door run

That's it!

To be clear, I tried every way until Sunday to fit them onto my DC... But unless you can get side window glass made ($1200+++ ea h pane) the there is no DC option.
