I would have saved a lot of money if I didn't do just thatIt's not just 40s specifically.
If someone starts wheeling with a stock truck, does a 2.5" lift and 33s, wheels, then upgrades lift/tires to 35s, etc, through the years, then they can use their skill to take advantage of 40s when they get there. Or 42s or whatever. If you skip right to the top of equipment level without the skill, the truck will be more capable than you are.
While not a problem, it's generally a better idea to grow your skill with the equipment as opposed to trying to drive a Ferrari when you're used to a fiero.
