As I've said before, I am always looking for little missing parts and pieces that complete this rig. Some of the last things on the list were the rear heater parts. Scored a nice condition heater and copper lines from a guy in our little town of Divide today. It's nice to see that there are still some good parts out there.

I ended up talking to him about FJ40s for nearly an hour.

On a separate topic, we just broke ground on the cabin that I've been talking about for a while. Hoping to get the roof on by winter. The Pikachu luxury tractor and Warn 8274 have been pivotal in moving these huge logs.

Man. Look at my shop too in comparison. Lots of Cruiser have turned through here in 5 years!

That’s awesome. Tilda Bogue is such a special place.

We had the best time making that road trip to Mississippi. I remember rolling up to my Grandmother’s house in Jackson with Pikachu on a trailer. She laughed and thought I had lost my mind. Maybe she was right.

Regardless, it has been the start of so many adventures and fun times.

Do you recall how many bolts it is to get that off? i am getting ready to line the bed, and I can't get that damn thing off!

Should be 2-3 on each side, IIRC. It's been a little while. If you have all of them removed, it may just be a bit stuck.

^^^ Pretty girl with you! 😉

It was -19 here this morning. Very crisp and beautiful day.

On a tech note, I wonder if that 15W-40 is too heavy for this time of year.

Beautiful picture and that's damn chilly! Funny timing as I was just reading this article about engine oils... 540 RAT - Tech Facts, NOT Myths - https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/ Based on his findings I think I'll be making a change to the oil I use and no longer using the Lucas zinc additive... that I literally poured in today. HA!

I'd say that it is a little heavy. I had a no oil pressure start in my Volvo XC70 a few days ago running 5w-30, but it was also about -30 out that night. A stop and restart fixed that, but I was surprised, to say the least. I think it was a bit thick to get pressure up for a few seconds.

I tend to agree, and certainly for vehicles that are parked outside. My saving grace here is that the 40 is always parked in an insulated building at night, so the block usually sits between 30 and 40 degrees in the Winter. I'm on the fence with whether to go heavier next oil change.
