You got the skills to do it for sure. I have always hit the easy button and bought a used one. Last one I bought was $400 with latches but without hinges. I'd probably build the next one the way prices are creeping up! I much prefer a drop down tailgate to the barn doors to use as a platform off the rear of the truck. Take a look at Samurai door hinges, they are cheap and will function just the same as the expensive toyota hinges. Since you don't have factory hinge holes already, you can make anything work.

Check out my Lynchburg Lemonade build in the 40 section. I made one that works really good and listed part numbers for cables too. It will support me (260 lbs) also works great on the trail for making lunch.

For sure... if stockish means you could hang your 40 from a tall building by one of your sliders. 🤪 I think these may pass as "stockish"? Maybe?

Slow going right now. Been working a lot of over-time to order parts. Will definitely be back at it soon. On the list to do will be a 4x4Labs Saginaw kit, RedHead Steering box, Dakota Digital gauge cluster, Restomod Cyclone-S heat/ac, radiator, drive shafts, roll cage, and finish the panhard bar.

Trying to find information, and I've tried searching.....someone did a build where they ran headers out over the frame and the exhaust thru the front body/running board mount. Does anyone know who this might have been?
