After a few months of poor judgement, I came to my senses and took my truck off Craigslist. Fortunately the Cruiser Spirits fended off any potential buyers long enough for me to smarten up. So after my bad experience with the transfer case gears, and 3 years of high revs on the highway, I decided to learn a new skill and see if I could successfully swap a used 3.70 60 series R&P into my rear third.

So far seems okay. But since my speedometer isn't corrected yet, on my short test drive it was hard to tell much difference. Drove familiar roads around my house at the same revs and same gears as normal... :steer: but my GPS told me I was going 10% faster, and there was a bit more body roll around the corners :hillbilly: Maybe when the speedometer is corrected or I'm driving in heavy traffic, the full effect of the new gears will become more obvious.

Next step: 3.73 from Marks for the front!

Good decision, few tools and patience most could manage to set up gears after watching a few videos.

Terrain Tamer and Marlin make gears that are virtually no noise...but now you solved that problem no need for tcase gears.
