when she's road worthy yes.. she'll get her fair share of wheeling again. Still waiting on some brake master cylinder parts to arrive. waiting on some adapter fittings to go GM master cylinder and install the wilwood proportioning valve that's been on the shelf for a while.
i'm finishing up my parts of the build, mainly stuff that's been waiting a while (like 5 years) to go on and be fixed, Jobe will do his magic on the engine and I should be good to go. Brakes have always been soft since 4wheel disk upgrade.. apparently the master I put on wasn't big enough.

I have a corvette master on the shelf if you want it.

today's project. NEw GM master, adapter from duane, wilwood proportioning valve.

How did the MC swap go? Everything work out? You actually got brakes that will hold the truck?

I was going to come over to check this out, after I mowed the yard, neither of which happened. Saw the finish line on the bumper and couldn't pull myself away. Both swingouts are ready to come over and burn in.

whelp. got the yard mowed as well. got all the pieces for the swap, (fittings) changed the oil on jenn's truck and fixed the mower before i mowed.. and watched the sandlot on tv.. in the ac.. monday's a freebie jenn will be at rehersal and i'm not working.

master is on, bled and adapted with a wilwood proportioning valve installed. Colin is bringing some scrap over tonight to fab up a bracket to mount the wilwood valve to the firewall.. Need to burn off the surface rust on the rotors.. they're a bit glazed..

Working with the Eric's to have them come grab this thing and take it to a local shop owners place.. Shop is called Eric's Rivertown Garage in Lexington Missouri.. not sure if she'll be going to the shop or the shop owners house.. Not that I really care I was just putting in a shameless plug for the shop owner Eric Jobe.. Shop phone # 660-259-2052 and yes he works on LandCruisers.. and knows who to call for tech and cross referencing as well.. And has been known to pick up parts from the garage as well..

Why is Erik Sending his truck to a shop? Well Erik is sending his truck to Eric. Erik knows 2f's and 3f's but not Chevy v8's.. He needs to learn but Eric knows V8's like the back of his hand.. So.. she's getting the attention she needs in the engine bay..

Part of the possible grabbing of the FJ62 will be a grab of the FJ45 from it's cold storage across town in Blue springs.. That will be another story altogether but noteworthy that she'll be getting some attention after the wagon is rolling and going..

Congrats on the progress! Keep it coming.

Funny, I am sending my latest project to the hot rod shop to get wired this afternoon. Carburated toyota moters = easy. FI = I'm to busy too learn.

this is the reason it's going to Jobe.. I know NOTHING about how to fix this..
plug #6 and plug #8.. it's done this since i dropped the motor in.. hope he can work his magic..

Dr JObe says plug foulage "Confirms his theory"
Glad he has one cause I don't! :)

Dr jobe said to run seafoam in her for an hour.. clean her out.. and said to remove the oil cooler that was leaking and annoying.. I"m following dr's orders. seafoam for an hour and remove oil cooler sandwich..
cleaned out interior a bit while she was running.. Not much more to report till she goes in for her checkup.

did siphon out about 5 gallons of green gas few days ago.. hope mower will eat it .. you can see the super siphon in the above picture.. they work GREAT!

Love it! I see a gauge or something - is that the valve? what does it do, show pressure for break system?

I need to suck in some Seafoam through my manifold/efi/pcv I guess. It was nasty in there - prolly clogging up my vent valves and lines to places like my booster! :)

wilwood proportioning valve PN 260-2220 avail at places like Jegs and summit racing and others..
what it essentially does it reduce the pressure to the rear brakes.. Why you ask? when you remove the LSPV on the back of a wagon (i'll explain it in a sec) you need some other way to change the brake bias so the fronts grab first then the rears and your rears don't lock up first.
If your rears lock up first its SCARY..

On a wagon the LSPV takes fluid from the rear system of a tandem master and diverts it back to the front system.. Pain to bleed and really odd! so you can essentially just push your fluid around in a circle. to bypass it you have to trace the brake lines to it and plug one section and redo a rear brake line so it essentially goes straight to the back not attached to the front brakes. I have no idea if there is a thread or not most of this stuff i learn on my own by studying the truck and the manuals.. The LSPV in theory is supposed to determine if you had a bunch of weight in the back or are off balance and change the rear braking accordingly. since i prefer to have control over my own destiny this valve allows me to adjust my pressure to the rears myself..
TO adjust you need a safe spot to get to some speed and slam the brakes.. if the rears lock first, dial it in to reduce the pressure if not go other way..

whatever the last trip was we took.. I think from Colorado to the house.. or from moab to the house.

I only pulled 6 and 8 cause they're the ones that foul.. SPEAK.. you got something in your head mr v8.. What's your diagnosis? Jobe will probably pick it up this week to take to the shop..

what do the other plugs look like? it might be the haed gasket, hard to tell in the pics looks like oil and coolant deposits. next thing i would do is a compression test. and check the oil and coolant for each other

Dangit your gonna make me work aren't you.. Normally in the life of this motor the other plugs were ok and normal.. it uses oil which i'm guessing is going into 6 and 8 somehow. Jobe says intake manifold, i have no idea why.. I'm v8 dumb mainly cause i've only ever had 4 cylinders inline 6's and a diesel. I just kinda figured I can change a timing belt on a dual overhead cam 4 cylinder why do I need to know about american V8's.. Shurly someone I know will coach me. :)
Never really had a problem with coolant.. I can pop the other plugs IF I get to them before Jobe comes and grabs this thing. I'm a bit leary of a half hour shakedown driving it to him. Jenn's concert is this weekend so that's out. I can try for wed night if possible.
