Nope—I think to damage them you’d need to be in a pretty tight spot with rocks or mud behind your wheel and would then need to use reverse. Probably many a trail run could be done with them in place with no issues.

But I should have thought to pull them while I was standing around waiting for my tires to air down….don’t let my absent mindedness keep you from pulling the trigger!
Oh the trigger has been pulled, now I’m impatiently waiting for their arrival. But I wanted to make sure I wouldnt completey trash them when I inevitably forget to take em off

30 seconds and they lift right off- super easy - don’t worry you won’t forget

Just left a review. Couldn’t be happier with these.

Pro tip: remember to remove when airing down BEFORE trail, not mid way…..

Thanks for the review!! Much appreciated.

As @mdcoa mentioned, they are pretty hard to actually break. Usually a reverse scenario up against a big rock. I also intentionally used plastic washers to hold the flap on, so they should tear away in a scenario like that before doing any damage. You just have to make sure you notice and retrieve the flap.

I actually forgot to take them off a couple years ago when doing some heavy rock riding. I came off a rock step and the front flap got pinned between the slider and the rock. It was too late at that point to remove them as the whole weight of the truck was pinching them (front wheel off the ground). I kept moving and the urethane slid on the rock until I cleared it. Figured I'd destroyed the urethane, but it was perfectly fine minus some scratching. They probably helped me slide off the rock easier lol. These things should outlast these trucks which is saying a lot.

Exactly what I was hoping to hear! To say I’m excited to get them is an understatement

Just got the delivery notification a short while ago. Was excited to get home and throw them on then my boss threw a leadership dinner on my calendar at a fancy steakhouse. Can't be mad, but I'm kinda mad 😅

Alright, boss had an emergency come up and had to cancel dinner so I got home and installed the ASAP Flaps. Here's my initial impressions:

Holy crap, these things are quality! The flaps themselves are nice and thick and all cuts are crisp. I noticed the mounting brackets were super sturdy, but even moreso once installed on the truck. They are solid, period. All hardware was there and they even included 3 extra nylon washers and spacers. Perfect if you forget to take them off and happen to rip one out, which I imagine would only be a one time thing and so 3 spares is perfect.

I downloaded the instructions and the install went super smooth. Mine is an LX with the body cladding and so I was a bit disappointed to see I'd need to lower my sliders to get to the bottom 2 bolts, but I pushed on. What I found was that by simply loosening the forward most bolt under the cladding it gave me just enough wiggle room so that I didn't need to mess with my sliders.

These worked great on my ARB rear bumper, but it wasn't until I installed these that I noticed it sits a little too far forward (into the wheel well) on the drivers side. Oh well, the flaps went on just fine anyway.

I took a drive to the store after getting them on and heard a bit of rubbing as I was braking, the flaps contacting the turning rear tire, but they didn't fold up. I'll keep an eye on that and report back if it becomes cause for concern.

In short, I love em. They make the truck look so much more well rounded and I feel like a much more responsible MT owner knowing I'm not gonna be flinging rocks up on cars behind me. I've got a trip out to Big Bend coming up in June with plenty of back country driving in store so I'll be putting them to work. Can't wait!

Glad you like them and everything was there! I constantly second guess myself if I remembered to get all the hardware in the box. The LX install is more tedious, but once it's done you never have do it again. If for some reason you decide to scrap the flaps in the future, you can just use the bolts to hold the cladding without the flaps/brackets.

It's very unusual to have rubbing in the rear. Since it's one side, part of me wonders if your bumper is installed crooked. Hopefully you can get it sorted as the rear shouldn't rub even at full stuff.

I have an ARB rear bumper but I am running 34.5" tires. I have VERY little clearance upfront even with the pinch weld hammered in. Can't wait to get my set to see how it fits.

I have 34's as well with the pinch weld hammered. I received them today/tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.

You should be fine. I run 295/70/18s and clear no problem. You just might have to do a bit of extra bending on the front brackets to tuck them in more. Also, if the retainer bolt doesn't contact the flap anymore, you can actually just bend the tab down (purposefully design) and you'll get extra length out of the retainer.

That's how I run mine and haven't had issues.

Edit* I also have 1.25" spacers which increases the scrub radius. If you're not running spacers, you may not need to do any of what I just said.

This is helpful, since I have the same tires size with 1.25" spacer setup.
Any chance you could post a pick or two of the tab you mention bending?

Just did the installation everything went smooth and it seems like there is plenty of space. By retainer bolt do you mean the small allen head that locks the flap in place?

Great product such high quality it makes me interested in other product offerings. Really super high quality would buy again.

Don't have photos but this tab that the "retainer bolt" goes through. That can be bent down 90° instead of using the bolt.

Glad to hear! What size tires do you run?

I try to make sure every product I sell is as good as possible. There's sometimes limitations, but I spend time ensuring they're as minimal as possible.

Got it, ill bend the tab just for good measure. I run 295/70/18 KM3's

Only bend that if the bolt doesn't hold the flap.

When you bend the main front flap a bit more to push it into the wheel well, it sometimes causes a bend in the flap that makes it stick out too far for the bolt to catch. At that point, you can bend the tab. Small adjustments until they clear your oversized tires.

Hopefully that makes sense. I can chat with you when you do the install if you need more clarity.

I understood. Its great. Very high quality and great design. Can I order custom flap length in the future I want it longer closer to the ground like a rally car :D

Hmm. I could possibly make them a bit longer. The sheets come in a standard size, but there's a few inches of excess on the top/bottom. I'd have to try it and see.
