Did you ever solve this? I realize now I'm having the same issue. I assume there must be an accessory 12v hooked up somewhere where a constant 12v needs to be?

FYI for anyone else who experiences this... Didn't end up being a wiring issue at all.. Just a blown fuse in the engine compartment fuses panel.

10-1-2022 edit: I relinked some deprecated pics and I'm self-hosting the spreadsheet.

Here is the link to my spreadsheet in PDF and XLSX formats.
Another update: print your own radio bezel. I modeled it in CAD and it's a free download.

Thanks to redjet for his original spreadsheet which mine is based off of. I mapped all pertinent pins for anyone to easily follow. My vehicle is a 2001 LX470 with Mark Levinson audio (North American LHD model specifically).

The relevant connectors are at the back of the AC Amplifier and the orange plug at the AC/Nav fascia. You will label the matching plugs on your harness I, H, F, G, and E. (I didn't order them that way, that's how the Toyota wiring diagram identifies them.) Also note the 20-pin connector at the audio control unit, it's a perfect match for the Metra 70-8113 harness.

This is skipping to the end-goal, but this is a picture of the double-DIN radio bezel you can download and print.

Can you please fix the pdf link?

Before this project my experience with wiring was on par with a toddler's, but I was able to do it anyways. It's really not that hard. Just follow the diagram and you're fine. I found the nav delete to be easy, but the speaker change to be hard. Stick to nav delete but keep factory sound and it'll be simple.
Can you post the diagram please?

I'm seriously thinking about doing this now with my 02LC that has nav, climate, broken cd changer. Currently the touch screen is cracked to hell and getting that disk error message. Couple of questions I just want to make sure I've got the steps to proceed correct...

1) I will need to find a dash panel with the manual climate control (maybe 3 knob?). Likely ebay.
2) I will need to find the pigtail wiring harness that plug into the back of that 3 knob controller above. Likely salvage.
3) I will need to rewire to that pigtail (50+ wires) based on the diagram (looking for that latest diagram).
4) I should then be able to purchase and install any modern head unit?

Anything I'm missing?
My alternative is run with my current setup and purchase something like a Grom unit correct?

You usually can get #1 and #2 at the same time. That way there's no wiring unknowns....

For wiring in a modern head unit, I also suggest removing the Factory Amp. Its not needed once you go with manual climate controls and new head unit. You can either run a new modern amp or use the built-in amp with your head unit. Plenty of options there....

So far the only one I’ve found that includes the wiring at the moment on eBay is going for $600. Insane.

Anyone know the part number? Might inquire at a salvage shop instead.

Also is there a current link to the wiring diagram?

Completed the nav delete this evening. Everything seems to be working as expected except for the antenna up/down. I don't have a head unit yet so nothing to plug those two antenna wires into but I noticed while I was rewiring, the pinout diagram had wires for the antenna up and down. I figured that controls the motor so guessing something might not be right?!?!?! Or does it actually have to be plugged into a head unit to work?

I still need to go back in the morning and cap off all my loose wires. Now the fun part begins, searching for a modern head unit.

Anyway, I am stoked to have this complete. I was definitely intimidated by it but honestly once I got rolling it wasn't too bad. Thanks you to @TXSunDevil for answering my questions. I'm sure he's probably heard the same questions again and again for over 10 years now. To everyone who contributed to this and put in the initial work, THANK YOU!!!

I believe the head unit must be plugged in for the antenna to function. The relay control wiring for the antenna runs through the head unit, and will sense when the head unit is turned on.

Was going to have a shop do the head unit install but holy smokes is it expensive. So I think I'll tackle this myself.

As far as installing the head unit, am I just needing the Metra harness 70-8113 since I plan to keep factory amp? Does that harness make it pretty much plug and play?

I know from reading this tread mounting is going to be the other issue because the nav brackets won't work. What about this Beat-Sonic SLA-100R (Before it was SLA-100FB) Dash Kit for 1998-2002 T - https://www.beatsonicusa.com/products/beat-sonic-sla-100fb?rq=mk_toyota__md_land-cruiser__yr_2002?

Anything else I need to consider? I decided just to leave the gps, amp, and cd changer in the vehicle....at least for now.

The write up I posted in the beginning should have everything you need. Off the top of my head you will need the amp bypass harness, a 2/1 antenna splitter and new mounting brackets. I would remove the gps, amp and CD changer. List them on Ebay and you will get money to fund this project. I made money on it.

I recently did this delete on a RHD Japan spec was a bit more involved but after the nav delete my cool box doesn't even power on. Does anyone have a Wiring diagram for the 1999 LC 100 RHD with cool box i have been looking everywhere and am only seeing the 2002 EWD. I believe i have missed a wire but i dont know where.

For this i didn't have a metra harness but i ended up finding the corresponding speaker wires and spliced them into a RCA jack that fed into my head unit.

This weekend I went to install my new head unit after completing the nav delete a couple weeks back. After I got everything hooked up with the new head unit I went to start things up, put the key in the ignition and immediately noticed no chimes. I turned the key and noticed nothing working on the instrument cluster. No speedometer, tach, fuel, chimes, indicators, odometer, etc. None of that working. All the climate control is working including the rear climate. Hazard light, defrost, AC, etc. All the stuff on the bezel appears to be working. I DMed TXSunDevil and he suspects I likely pulled a connection loose when I removed the bezel for the head unit install. That makes the most sense. I'm just trying to narrow things down though so I don't have to pull apart 60 wired connections trying to track all this down. Does anyone know where that cluster get's it's power source? Which Plug you would start with? I did see on the pinout sheet tachometer as Plug A pin 13.

I should note I also did check fuses in the driver side fuse box.

Check your fuses... make sure you didn't pop/short something

The one fuse that does not seem to be getting any power to it is the I/UP. I have tested it both with the key on and off and nothing.
That fuse is for your Rear Window Defogger and Mirror heater.

Double check or swap out your Gauge Fuse.

I can post an ewd diagram if you have a section you need
That might help. I've got a Circuit Tester and tested all my fuses and even swapped them out with new ones. All my wire connections look good. Grounds are all lighting up green except for C12 which is listed as ground but uses a Yellow/Green wire instead of White/Black. My next step was going to be to cut and reconnect that C12. I'm so dejected now. =(
