Power steering pump

I thought I remembered seeing someone on here that ran a FJ60 pump with a Saginaw gear. Can't find the thread.

Would a FJ60 be enough?
Would it be better to just use a GM pump?

It will be going on a 79 block that has the mounting holes for a stock pump. A 60 pump would bolt up with the bracket. My concern is will it be enough. Running 33x12.5's now, might eventually go up to 37'S. ARB in the front.

I have the Saginaw stuff off a parts cruiser so I'm pretty set on using that gear. Thanks, Jeff

I wonder if the OEM mounting bracket could be modified to work with the Sag pump?

I just saw something that made me sick today. 1980 fj40, had OEM PS once(still had the cooler lines under the rad)....swapped to saginaw box with OEM PS pump(brand new)

Guy paid 30k+ for it.....nice red paint...but they didnt even remove the hood cushions....just painted them body color.

Hood cushions may have been painted over at the factory. My truck even has exposed metal under the cushions.
