For me; it seems I go from business hobbyist to self employed regularly.... get tired of working too much... scale back to hobby level again... I keep scaling back every few months... want it to stay fun.

Not sure where everyone else is on margins, but I'm happy with my numbers and that's all that matters.

I was surprised to find how low the average numbers were for small businesses in the USA. If 2/3 of the businesses do less than
150,000 in gross sales they probably have no employees. Certainly if the sales are under 100,000. I guess if you resell items from garage sales on ebay you are technically a business. I guess we keep trying hoping for that that little blue 4% piece of the pie...or at least the 10% light purple one

The shop area is actually 450 sq sf bigger than what I have now PLUS an additional 17 x 12 office up front and enclosed bathroom.

Like I said before I don't want to get any bigger, just need the room to get all things Trail Tailor under one roof.

Also to note:

The wall on the left connects to an additional 4400 sq ft shop that will become available in 6 months and the landlord says I have first right of refusal on it and any upgrades between the two units since mine is the only one that connects to it.

YES, there will be a TRAIL TAILOR MOVING SALE in the next two weeks on a few misc items... any remaining bumpers, sliders and roof racks that I don't want to take on the 880 mile move.

All leases, property insurances and product liability insurances have been upgraded/signed to the new states requirements as of yesterday and deposits and payments for the next 6 months were mailed out....

Getting a few maintenance items out of the way... AC is good and charged, blows at 35 degrees at the vents. Topped off all diff, trans and TC.

Finally flushed the power steering pump and gear box. Fluid was foamy, and the unit was moaning like a wounded javelina for the last month or so.....

First 12-16 oz was nasty, nasty NASTY! I flushed it with 2 qts of CHEAP ATF from walmart and then ran almost 1.5 qts of Redline synthetic ATF to top off the flush. I'll run it a bit and then do another quick flush.

Smooth steering and NO box crying


YES, I'm ashamed this fluid looks like this, but one of the last baseline items on my list from the purchase last year.
