For the bodgers & mushfakers and those who look up to the mythical Doctor Emmett Brown.

20,000 RPM angle die grinders turn clockwise.

Household blenders, from the perspective of the motor underneath, turn counter-clockwise.

I would just sharpen the back sides of the blender's blades, but the spider between the blender and the motor shaft is a left handed thread and spins off if I turn the blender backwards.

Cordless DeWalt reversible drill spins it right, but at no where near enough RPMs. Besides, I don't want to soak a nice 18VDC drill in Margaritaville.

Hmm... Maybe a simple gear to gear transmission... but where to salvage the gears from?

What about 14vdc Dewalt stuff? You could run it off the truck battery. Check out the robot sector they'll have whatever you need without the expense of buying the whole drill. Something similar to below.

May not be the cheapest setup but it'll work.

Have you considered finding an old GM starter and cutting the end housing off to direct-drive your blender? It could certainly be done on the cheap.

My pneumatic blender uses a simple butterfly impact wrench (reversible) with 1/4" adapter and the usual plastic jar. This works quite well.

Cheers.

Grinders are only ported to turn one way. Some have cylinders that can be reversed with minor mods. Then the rear end plate will need to be clocked slightly so the air feed is in the correct place, on most just a roll pin that needs to be removed, a new hole drilled for it.

I wouldn't use an angle head unless you have to, straight grinders are simple and more reliable.

Or as Alia said small impact and air drill motors are reversible, but they are larger and will use more air.

Was at the local outdoor store here, and they had one on display.. Thing works good! I'd buy one, IF I was going to drink Blended drinks on the trail. Not really my bag.

Plus with your avatar, I'd think you'd be used to hand-cranking ;) hehe

what direction does that crank turn on those hand crank blenders? I have played with one before and thought they were kinda alot of work to make a drink (esspecially after a few drinks) However if it turned the right way i know its like a 1/2 in drive where the crank comes off just hook up ther cutoff wheel and your done

There are gas powered ones out there too. You start it up like a mower. Trust me it lets EVERYONE know it's margarita time.
