Sweet pig.
good to see some cruisers popping up in New England.
Plenty of parts pigs over here in NH.
Dave, I have 2-3 solid trucks worth diving into, let me know...

This weekend i took the body off of the frame and sandblasted the frame. My camera battery charger died . I wiil post more pics as soon as the new charger comes in.

Progress

I have been real busy with work so progress is slow. I took the body off of the frame and brought it out side so I could sandblast the frame. I will paint the frame with Master series (similar to POR 15,cheaper and a little easier to use). My frame was real clean so the blasting was mostly to get off the old paint and undercoating. It took me about 2 hrs and 3 50lb bags of sand.

rear suspension

I am working on putting the rear suspention under the bare frame. I had a freind measure the distance from the fixed pin on a stock 60 frame to the shackle pivot on that frame. It measures 45 7/8". I am using new OME Dakar heavy springs. I figured that I would mount the hangers the same as a stock 60 series frame. I did this and the shackle is near flat. My frame is bare, no body, 48 gallon fuel tank, no heavy rear bumper. Do you guys think that this will flatten out and give the right shackle angle when everything is put under load? Here is a picture of the the hangers at 45 7/8'' as they are on the stock 60series frame

cool gary that is killer. I used that ZeroRust stuff on my axles, sprayed myself with my dinky 26 gallon compressor, turned out awesome. I was reading about it over at hotrod forums (mostly because I was considering galvanizing) and seems like common consensus over there is zero rust over POR-15 if that matters. Also cleans up way easier and you dont need rubber gloves etc... If that helps! Andre

Eeesh man I think I would want my shackles at least a little bit more vertical than that. There is *some* weight on it right now, right?

I think if you brought your shackle hanger in a little bit and the thing flattened too much, you could always slap on longer shackles to fix that problem...

I just got off the phone with ARB tech. I explained my situation and he said go with the stock dimension and the spring will definetly flattten out.

are these dakar springs supposed to have 2 inches of lift or stock height?
are you planning on 33s?

2-3" lift Dakkar springs. 2" lift blocks by Roger Brown. I am planning on 33's, 34's, or 35's. I would like to run something about 11 wide so maybe 285/75/16.
I would like to run stock lc rims with caps widened by Stockton but they would end up costing over $200 each which is more than what I want to pay. I been trying to figure this out for a while .

Looking good, cant wait to see that motor and trans in.
