Well I've had this noseguard and stinger from Metaltech sitting here for about 5 months now so I figured it was about time to put it to use. Spent a few hours today starting in on the job.

First pic is the noseguard I tacked a few pieces of roundstock to the back of it to keep it spaced right and the angles right as youll see later.
Second pic is where I boxed the frame.
Third pic is one of the brackets for the noseguard which will be drilled through and bolted to the frame.

As you can see from pic two the noseguard runs through the middle of the headlights in its stock configuration. This is where the roundstock tacked to the back comes into play. You can see in pic four that I cut out the corner of the tubing where it would have crossed over the headlight. Then in pic five my plan which is to reverse the curve and fit it in so that it wraps under the headlight. I ran out of cutting discs so I called it a day. More to come next weekend.

What about extending them out and around the headlights? Would that look to strange? BTW is that bedliner on the body?

That might be an option if metaltech sent some extra prebent tubing although I'm not sure how it would look. I think this will look pretty sweet when finished, it looks pretty awesome in my head anyway.
The body is covered in durabak, do it yourself bedliner.

Like the old saying goes.... It's like putting a silk hat on a pig.

No, dont have any hoes, maybe I need to get a few 40's and paint them really flashy for some girls I know. Maybe like that one that was on the MTV show a couple yrs back.

Got some pics of todays progress. Got the nose guard most of the way done now. Both corners around the headlights have been fabbed up, I have the top hoop on now. I'll be putting the stinger on tomorrow or next weekend have to see how much time I have and how hot its gonna be. But check these out and let me know what you think.

You should plug the holes with a flag pole.

Just a thought

Does the top hoop extend up far enough to provide protection in a roll-over? I can't tell from the last pic... Looking good!

I dont think it is wide enough to provide any body protection as the sides of the hood and fenders would get tore up. But it would most likely help save the radiator so you could drive it home.

It definitely sticks up high enough to protect the radiator which is what its designed to do, the hood might get a little crunched but its swiss cheese anyway. If I roll it I want to be able to drive home. When JP and I rolled his 40 and I saw that noseguard holding us up and protecting the radiator so we could get home I knew it was worth every penny. In the future I'd like to do something like in this pic the blue lines being fender tubes which can protect those and help in the roll.
