One vertical brace in the middle of the long side can't hurt, but it's only a cooler. What wall thickness is that square stock?

kinda thin 18ga .. it also fits 3 gas cans if need be :D and it will have a brace on the bottom to mid or end of the rack as well

Test fit 2000... Ill weld this thing on tomorrow... I hope ....I really like how it turned out ... I thought about makin it higher for clearance but it's the same hight as the spare and perfect hight for gettin into it.

Put some hotrod led license plate lights on ... They are not as bright as I thought they would be :(

And I mounted the rack about a inch to far in and the lid doesn't open all the way

Well it spent alot of years on the lease before I strarted rebuilding it this time... I remember going I the county tax office and just off the cuff telling the lady it sucked paying that much for plates on a truck that hadn't seen that road in 3 years.. She said get me a wht and we'll make it a farm truck :) and here she is ... And thx she's a labor of love for sure
