What are people doing for onboard air in the Land Cruiser? I'd like to permanently mount an ARB somewhere, but not sure where that would be. In the interim, is there a compressor that can plug into the inverter?
In the GX550, inverter's only 400w at 120v, which is 33amps if converted perfectly to 12v. Could power an Arb single maybe but would be tight with the arb max amps specced at 32.

I'm just waiting for the Lexus aftermarket one right now since it should fit nicely in the hatch in the back they set aside for it. But if I get impatient, I might experiment with something too. I don't love having an air compressor in the rear since that means bugs getting inside in many cases when inflating.

But if I had the LC250, which I guess you do, I'd probably get a portable kit and use the 2400w inverter and call it a day.

Did you guys know there's a storage compartment right behind the rear seats? It houses the tire iron and few other tools.

I picked up a Land Cruiser trim over the weekend, it came with the roof rack cross bars and I discovered today while on the highway that they make a lot of wind noise (was driving into a nasty headwind, that certainly didnt help). Something to think about for anyone who wants them, I’ll probably take them off until i need to put something up there.

Ey, may I have pictures and a price? I'm interested?

Is anyone else going through an adjustment period with the regenerative braking on the 250?

300mi in and this feature is still a mystery box to us. Trying anticipate when it will and wont trigger and we’re finding inconsistencies when driving at the same speeds and on same roads. We’ve never owned a hybrid/EV before the 250 but I’ve experienced the constant RB on a Tesla, at least it’s predictable.

Another quirk and possible user error- I turned off most of the nanny systems + customized all three gauge screens and the next day it reverted to the factory settings. Same key used from one day to the next. Its going to be really annoying if this persists.

This is my first hybrid too. But from what I watched last week, regenerative braking is a feature to recycle the heat or energy dissipated from braking back to the hybrid battery. In a standalone engine, the brakes will generate a lot of heat and it simply gets lost, so to speak. In a hybrid set up, that heat is captured and cycled back to the hybrid battery.

If it has memory seats, what worked for me was setting my gauge cluster the same way you set memory seats. Hasn't changed since.

Right. My issue is the inconsistency of the regen braking, its a sudden jolt and annoying if you cant anticipate when its likely to occur. At least its a constant with EVs and you learn to feather the throttle and drive single pedal in most cases.

Not following on this. Im setting seat memory on the door and all of the gauge/nanny systems on the steering wheel. Is there another method Im missing ?

Yeah you're following correct. I saw somewhere (Can't remember if in the manual or online) that the customized gauge cluster was tied to seat memory settings. I tried that in mine and it worked, but it may also have beeb completely independent of the seats.

Ah, this is my first hybrid and so far I haven't noticed any issues related.

Alright folks, I’ll humbly admit I’m a dummy. Both mysteries solved. Gotta read that manual!

What I thought was regen braking is actually the PDA system reacting to objects/curves and applying brake pressure. PDA is now off and poof, no more random/rapid braking. PHEW. PDA is awful.

My original system settings were done in default ‘guest’ mode. In the midst of setting up a linked profile on the app I switched over to a new profile, that reset everything back to default. Note when toggling back to guest it will erase all prior settings. This is odd and now leaning towards keeping it on guest full time.

Coming from 100/460 tech and this stuff is scrambling my brains.

Man that’s the best thing to me is the visibility. Absolutely nothing at all like an FJCruiser
I'd be curious how old of a car his friend is currently driving as well. Visibility has been limited across the board with more modern safety regulations.

I can only imagine the 250 would fare quite well comparatively given the belt-line/roof height, etc.

I think you've nailed it. My 2001 tundra has a relatively upright windshield compared to "modern" vehicles, and visibility is great for the most part. Our newish Forester is impossible to see anything out of. The exact opposite of the 2003 forester it replaced that was just glass everywhere. The primary safety (the car is safe)is affecting the secondary safety (you not getting in an accident in the first place)

I just picked up an Incognito GX550 in the luxury trim (not sure the US equivalent) and we love it so far. I've owned 60 series, 80, 100, 4th and 5th gen 4 runners as well as various Sequoias, Tacomas and Tundras. We love our Toyotas!

My wife is in love with this vehicle and it might be her favorite so far (she doesn't pay for gas). I really like it a lot as well, other than the design of the hood - I'd prefer a flat hood all across whereas it dips down from the fenders which I find annoying in the driving position. Lots of great things about it - the ride is nice, we like the height and it has great sightlines all around. It has a lot of feature as well, but the one thing that I wasn't sure of is already proving me right.

I wasn't sure how well massaging seats would hold up over the long term, but I did at least expect them to work for more than 1 week. The passenger seat is no longer functioning properly. You can tell it's on, but even with the intensity on max setting you can barely feel it. Not sure what the deal is there, but as it's covered I'll be sure to have the dealer look at it when we go in for the 1 month check up.

Other than that we really like it and I'm hoping to hold on to this one long term. The wife won't hear any talk of lift or tires though - she says this one is hers and I'm not allowed modifications...

The passenger seat massaging function has a pneumatic tube that is a little to short from the factory. It is an easy fix and ours now works as it should. Apparently just the passenger side. For ours they did send me out with a loaner as they had not encountered this yet, once they talked to Lexus the quickly knew the correction.

I have some questions, what are the sun visors for as they don't work well or at all for me? The other is, does anyone think the hard plastic under the soft covering on the door and center console have enough padding? I drove mine 16hrs this weekend and I have a bruise on my leg. I'm going to talk to an upholster tomorrow about adding some padding on the doors and center console.

The center console rubbing on my leg is annoying. I have a 1958. Just hard plastic. I'm thinking about ordering some black rubber padding to put on mine. The door plastic is not comfortable either. I thought it was just a 1958 issue. I know the higher trims have padded options for the console. I was thinking about ordering that piece and swapping it out but not sure if it's padded enough to make a difference.

It is only the soft material in the hard plastic it is no more cushioned than the 1958. I talked to an upholster yesterday whi said the inside console part is easy the door he would have to remove the door panel to make any changes.

Just over two weeks on my 58 edition I absolutely love this thing! I came from a 13 Tacoma and the tech in the LC is a lot for me and really wouldn’t want any more than what this model came with. I had a small road trip from southern NJ to Lake Wallenpaupack Pa averaged about 20 mpg, all in “normal” drive mode. I was impressed with the power in the roads up around the lake. No lags or no feeling of it being underpowered at all. I looked for this model specifically because it didn’t what luxury or gadgets in the other models, and yes I love the cloth seats. This model checked all the boxes of what I wanted and needed. Being the first hybrid I am learning a lot, thanks to this forum! Hopefully I’ll see some others cruising around out there!
