Orange Dot Mod

While looking into my EGR issue, I found that my dot is in need of a full replacement. Guess, they didn't clean that area of the engine before selling it, as mine was grey... looked kinda like a zombie dot. (shudder)

Warning!

Do not be fooled by after market none OME dots. Your performance will suffer dramatically.

no mech but i was led to believe that when i bought my truck that apparently all outback trucks have the full spectrum rainbow dot mods done .should i be getting my truck serviced at the car wash ,so that i can confirm that this is truely an original.

Rainbow dot?!? Take it to a bath house, not a car wash.

Just when I thought I was done baselining!
After I get done doing a blinker fluid flush, I'll dig into the dot thing!
Anyone know if standard blinker fluid will work or is there a toyota red blinker fluid I should source at the stealership??

I think you're conflating two different things.

Blinker fluid is a scam. I fell for it when I was a new Toyota owner.

The Orange Dot is not a scam- those who disbelieve are only un-informed.

My engine was making a terrible screeching noise, I knew by just a glance at the lack of lustre on my orange dot that I needed to purchase some fan belt grease.

The orange dot is the all seeing all knowing eye of the Toyota

regards

Dave

I am a little concerned now. I thought the birf and the PHH were some of the first things a newbie needed to inspect/change/service/mod.
Now I come across this orange "supposed to be red" dot. the PO of my rig installed a green dot. Has irreversible harm been done?
The only OEM dots I've found so far come from OZ, but they won't work cause the adhesive is on the opposite side for RHD rigs. What do I do next?

Hey guys after hours and hours of research it turns out that in sweden toyota dont manufacture these dots anymore :( i then turned to a greater tech minded god for help and between him and an ancient viking scientist they managed to come up with a replica "dot" .... Well well well let me tell you!!! It contains uranium and can prove to be highly unstable if installed incorrectly but if it done properly the results are unbeliveable
First pic are the dots they produced. Not sure why they sent me that many but hey im not complaining

These are the results before and after the high perfomance long dot instalation.
Before:

And after:

It even talks to me now
Kinda like KITT from knightrider except better.
Performance in all aspects are 10 fold!!!

Most do the mod correctly. Don't be pissy because you didn't get the results you expected :flipoff2:

It seems like every time gas starts getting up to $4/gal, people start paying more attention to their dots.

For me now it's the engine rebuild. Might as well replace the radiator, fan clutch, orange dot and water pump while you are there. Start out fresh.

It sounds like you don't understand the benefits of the orange dot. Heresy.

I touch my dot up with a SHARPIE.

It's buff...........:flipoff2:
