Crappy topic continues. Not sure who was the juvenile who started it. I remember telling visiting westerners in Japan to make sure they wore a belt. When they ask why, I would tell them "there is a hook on the toilet stall wall, hook your belt to it and use it to rappel down to position and not fall backwards"

Have you noticed Jeep owners waving at you? Do you wave back? Would you initiate a wave? Under what conditions?

Own A Jeep Wrangler? Then You’re Doing The Jeep Wave, Right? – Jeep 4×4

Strangely enough I get more waves than ever in my suburban than any any rig I've owned.
I get waves from jeeps (mainly older ones) cruisers, lifted trucks of all makes, vw owners (that one is weird), muscle car guys.

I'm guessing it just ticks the right amount of boxes. Lifted, V8, sounds nice, 4x4, classic look.... Who knows. It's strange

It's a cool truck Al, I call them War Wagons. Where I come from, every survey crew, line crew supervisor, anyone that had to haul some tools and get there no matter what drove Suburban, most had winches, big pizza cutters and a mild lift.

Motorcyclist generally share a wave, though a schism in that group often shows up in a lack of waving.
I've always riden Japanese or Euro bikes. I wave to everyone, but often times, the boys out playing dress up on their Hardly Able sons will mere look on with disdain. :meh:

Jeeps wave at me when I drive the 40. I wave back. There aren't many of these things around and they know they aren't waving at a Jeep. I appreciate friendly auto enthusiasts.

Also, since there aren't many around, I don't want the reputation of being the jerk with the FJ40. The car is easily recognizable.

Edit: I haven't driven it in a while, but took this pic yesterday (posted on LCLC)

Jeep guys are big wavers too. I built a 78 CJ7 when I lived in the Keys. I even glassed the entire inside of the tub, with drain holes. I was often approached by tourists in Jeeps, also knew every other Jeep in town.

@CharlestonG8R You keep it in a hyperbaric chamber?
I certainly would if I had one... None of my cruisers fit in my non-hyperbaric garage (the HJ might). Repaint was supposed to be completed before the Relic Run, but obviously that didn't pan out. It'll be ready for Relic Run Part Deux. How's yours running? I've only seen it once.

I need to install a security camera at a remote location. Anyone have any suggestions on cheap/simple wifi cameras?

I have wifi (obviously)
No PC connected to it
Needs high resolution (wanting to recognize the person's face as they steal something)
Needs to record based on movement
Needs to save that footage online/cloud

There's a TON of them out there - and all the information is muddled. Would really just prefer to hear from someone that's used one before. People talk about 'dropcam' a lot.... Is that a good one?

Does it need to be outdoors?

I have a spare wifi cam you can have if it will be indoors or you can order one on Amazon for $60 - Yi Home Camera (make sure to get US version)

It connects to WiFi, stores footage on the SD card and the app you install on your phone. Records constantly but hightlights footage when movement is in. Available in 720p or 1080p (for $130).

Dropcam is good, but expensive and you have to pay for their service.

Sweet.

Yes it's for indoors. I'll take a freebie - I'll send you paypal for shipping.

Shoot me a PM with your e-mail.

Thanks!!!!
