Getting there. I am understanding now how smart my decision to get out of the physical aspect of construction was in my early 40s. At 62 this build is kicking my azz. I look forward to getting in the finished building and getting back to building trucks, it will be a well earned vacation :)

Got this book from santa. Highly recommended to all off road fans. Camel trophy was the catalyst of all things 4x4 and outdoors for me. All the back stories and pics are incredible. Found it on amazon.

Anyone going out to King of the Hammers this year? Work is slow currently and i'm due a trip back home to see family, figured i'd do it that week and spend at least three days in Hammer town. Gotta check with some of my high school buds who compete occasionally if they will be doing again this year.

Chocolate Thunder + Back Door....... Now I know @custyota will be there

The plan is for me to be there for the whole event.
Nice!! @GarnerFJ40 is flying down. And we will be there mostly likely the 9th - 12th.
My billing day for work is the 8th so can't go down before then.

Oh man, I wish I could swing it!

I got that beat. Guy has been trying to sell this for 5k for a month now.

Guy bought a 3fe 80 for 15k in November despite lots of people telling him it was over priced. Didn't do full coverage slammed it into something large during ice storm at the start of the month.
Keeps telling people frame, axle suspension "looks" fine but won't get it verified. Thinks it's worth 5k.
He did finally take down the for sale add and now he wants to trade it for a pickup. Lol
moving my question here:

so how does insurance work on my 80 series

I purchased it for more than what it is currently worth.
If I was to switch from liability to full coverage, in the event I end up like that person, with liability insurance, would I be compensated for only what the insurance company "values" the vehicle at?

(probably somewhere around 3-4k)

You can discuss a stated value policy with your insurer. Document local comps. Add up any maintenance and add ons/mods. Come up with a value you agree upon and insure at that value. The premiums will reflect the $ agreed upon
