Really? When I read it, it said one of two children located and that they're still looking for Dior.

Sounds like the mother had been murdered. :'(

Sold the LX450 on Friday PM to Bill from Asheboro.

REALLY great guy - great family. Hoping he joins us here. He got a good deal on it imho : )

Happy he will own it now as their young family gets set to see the mountains, go on vacation, etc.!

Ready to buy another one? ;)

Tacoma has to be the off-road vehicle for now :)

Selling the LX gave me the energy to start thinking about finishing the Tacoma.

Posting in chat because I couldn't get a picture for the Spotted thread:

Driving back to NC from NE Ohio today, at one of the I-77 WV Turnpike toll boots, a transport truck was heading north. On it were 3 Land Cruisers, all of which looked brand new.

2 of them were plain white 200 Series with snorkels. They did not appear to have any of the features of US Cruisers: no window tint, no roof racks, possibly steel wheels.

The 3rd one was a 4-door 79 pickup, again plain white + snorkel.

It looked as if all 3 had window stickers. Snorkels were on the US passenger side on all 3. I could not pick up any other details.

I seriously considered returning north to chase this transport down and try to get the story, but it was the toll booth nearest the 77/64 split, and I'd have to travel several miles before exiting to chase it; then guess whether it went on 64 or continued on 77.

My curiosity is through the roof on this one....

Military/Govt contracts, those convoys are common on 77. I think @forrest5000 had an old client that outfitted a lot of them.

@little_joe Maybe from these guys. They have them stored in VA.

Imagine if this what you saw when you went to the regular Toyota Website.

Like Al said, Mil and other government contracts. There are a couple of 4WD schools down near Uwharrie, we have a few of those, and have to get them out every 2 years or show them crushed. In WV, there is a very expansive national training ground/school too for DOD as well as other agencies, and we have even a larger fleet of those. That way when our boys and girls get to Africa, they know how to drive the beasts. UN gets them by the bushel load. But UN has no army, as Dave Chappelle reminded me during his "Black Bush" days.....

Thanks guys, curiosity satisfied!

A vehicle caught fire on my work's street today, after it was struck by lightning.

I am now using this as yet another reason to never work Mondays.
