very nice william. we were talking about your 40 on the way to baja as it had been last year on our way down that darren got the email about it being for sale again. excellent work so far. can't wait to see it again in person.

that seat color worked out very nice!

Still making progress, just not too quickly. I was able to get the front end back on the truck. Nothing is tightened down yet, but it looks like its pretty close to lining up correctly. Also got the last batch of powder coated stuff back, the air filter and valve cover turned out too nice not to post; hopefully this stuff will be on the truck pretty quick.

I also have a few things out to get chromed, the hood spar, ashtray. My rear hatch struts were pretty trashed, so I cleaned them up and had them powder coated silver. They are supposed to be chrome, but I think the silver PC turned out pretty well. I am just waiting for some gas struts to show up to put inside and then I can reinstall them as well.

Finishing up a couple other small things and then it will be onto the wiring harness. More progress updates to come in the future:

Got a few things finished up last night. The early F valve cover is back on the engine, I used a little loc-tite on coupling nuts with a short stud since the early F valve cover is taller than the 2F cover; and then finished it off with some acorn nuts. Now I just need to figure out where to put the F135 decal, the oil cooler pipe would cover the original spot. Of course a couple pics, I am really happy I decided to use the original valve cover and air filter housing from the original early F engine; it really gives it a period correct look, and I would assume that most wouldn't even realize its not the original engine.

BE-utiful!

A little more done today, mostly finishing up some small stuff and getting the garage cleaned up.

Installed the air cleaner housing, Camry dual circuit brake master cylinder, low range shift linkage, and blower motor housing. Also got the last of the black parts ready to blast and paint, and put together what I hope to be one of the last list of parts needed to get this project finished.

Anyway, a few pics of the progress today:

Still making progress, the side top glass, passenger door glass and rear 1/4 glass is in; picked up the batch of chrome stuff I had done (hood spear, ashtray, turn signal lever and shifter stalk), steering column and shifter linkage is done. Hope to start on the wiring harness soon, and then it will be time to finish up a little paint and body work to get the rest of the truck finished up.
