Very well could, but before you go through that trouble... try greasing your inter-leaf liners. Those are the yellow pads at the end of each leaf. There is a grease port from the bottom, simply pump grease until it is coming out the sides. Not guaranteed to fix your movement but it is totally worth a try.

thank you Kurt
I sprayed some teflon spray in betwen the leafs and the clonk is gone

I'm pretty sure Hugh at Safari Ltd. in GJ, CO sells ironman.

For the sake of information, this thread is mostly about OME, with a little Ironman sprinkled in. The only reason I ask is because it was in the OP's original post/title, does anyone have any expeience with HFS and would you mind expanding on the experience here?

Fun fact, ironman is pulling out of the us market at the end of the month. :( I talked to their office yesterday about it. So if you're going to get an ironman suspension you better do it now! Also, they do a really good job of listing everyone who sells their parts for them on their site as well as technical specs and application: WWW.ironman4x4.com.

That sucks. Did they give you any reasoning other than the typical not enough demand shpeal? We need to maintain the vairety of parts available for these rigs. Will Callahan be stocking up on any 60 series kits? I was hoping to get one but I'm not quite ready for it yet.

Sadly, no. I just opened Saturday!
I actually found out because I was trying to open a wholesale account with them. I had been hounding them for awhile with no response so I finally called. They left a message with me explaining that "while they would love to open an account with me, they unfortunately cannot because we are pulling out of the us market and closing by the end of the month." Which makes me sad, because 1: that's less selection for my customers, and 2: they were really starting to get traction with the crusier guys!
If I had some float capital I would totally stock up of a couple of kits before they dropped out of the us market. I'm sure we could import them but then it would be cost preventative because of shipping costs, and any cost savings vs the OME kits would be negligible. Really what we need is a US manufacturer to step-up and start reproducing LC parts. With the market coming back this year, I think this is a really good time to be introducing products to the market.

So really it looks like at this point were are moving more towards only having HFS and OME as our remaining vendors for full suspension kits available in the US Market. Looks like the only other thing for those that want to keep SUA and not pay the arm and leg for OEM springs would be something like Alcan or 4+Plus (aside from OME and HFS).

That seems to be shaping up to be the long an short of it.

Ditto. Any HFS folks out there willing to chime in?

not sure this is accurate (hope not :crybaby:) see below

copy/paste from 80 forum......

"Hey Guys,

Really should have checked in here earlier as it seems there is a lot of confusion as to the future of Ironman 4x4 in the US and North America.

We aren't leaving the US! We are currently going through a restructuring of our North American operation, and during this time our stocks are going to be tighter, but I can assure you we plan to stay in the US and continue to sell our products to you!

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to shoot me a PM. I'll do my best to answer any questions you have. (I'm located in Australia so there will likely be delays in me replying).

Cheers,

From another toyota forum posted a few days ago.

I've been running HFS springs and shocks for about 4 years and no complaints. Only fitment issue I had was in regards to the HFS shackles. To get them to fit would require some grinding of the inner 'H' of the shackles - I already other shackles so I returned the HFS shackles but they were beefy. Here is my install post with before/after shots... https://forum.ih8mud.com/showpost.php?p=4250773&postcount=36

I'm guessing they settled about .5" or so after install to present. Per the post from 2009 the rear wheel well measured 38" after the lift and today it measures 37" but I'm guessing .5" is from tire tread (current tires are pretty old, not much nub left, and looking at the pics at the time of install the tires look new). I am not running any heavy add-ons (winches/bumpers/etc) to weigh down the springs, truck weighs in ~4600lbs.

It rides like a utility vehicle and is definitely not a comfy/cushy ride which is fine by me... I know of at least one forum member that got HFS springs and returned them because the ride was too stiff/rigid.

Obviously my rig is not a 'wheeler' so the springs/shocks have not seen a ton of abuse so I cannot comment on their durability but they seem well built and again, I've had no issues. I do not regret the purchase and primarily bought them because the dealer is local (I live in the Dallas area) so I could easily return them and/or work with the dealer in person if there were issues, missing parts, etc (versus virtually). What else do we want to know?

Just to muddy the waters a bit more can anybody provide specifics/reviews of the SOR heavy kit? The website is vague on supplier info, other than the Pro-comp branded shocks (meh...). I like the looks of the shackles, pins, etc. and the price is competitiveish. Anybody wanna chime in?

I've had the full ironman kit for about a year or so and was supremely happy with it (only reason I replaced parts was because I wanted more lift and bigger tires). Everything was very well designed/made. The little details, like how the nuts on the the shackles extend just a little past the greaseable nipples to protect them from rocks, that's a good idea and I can't figure out why other companies don't do that haha. The foam cell shocks were awesome as well.

You can't really go wrong with whatever you pick. But if I had to, I'd choose the IM kit again.

Hey guys...
I don't want this to sound like I'm plugging my shop or anything, because I'm not trying to make any money here
I'm 17 and was fortunate enough to be able to open a shop a year ago with some very close friends, all of us chasing our dream of making cars.
We don't make any real profit, maybe 10- 20 dollar on each car
We do it for passion and if I could, if totally do it for free
But anyway, back to the reason I posted.
My cruiser runs the stock suspension, but my buddy Alec has a 62 that he built a four way fully independent suspension system for that integrated a 4.48 in lift enabling him to equip his fine cruiser with 37 in tires. It's a dream to ride in and I'm thinking about it myself
So if any of y'all are in little rock arkansas and know someone who can send y'all over to rockmans auto mod shop, swing by and we will do whatever you want for your truck! There's nothing we can't make or order, and we only ask enough to cover the costs and to buy lunch at the end!

Best place and pricing for ironman lift?
