I also have the planted too with Scheelman they are little tight for my legs extended at max
Agree. I had to drill a new hole in mine to get some more leg room. Best mod I've done in the troopy.

Busy couple of days for the troopy.

Installed a 2" OME heavy lift. My old leafs and shocks were totally clapped out. Despite the heavy leaf pack in the rear, this truck is so much smoother riding now. This lift took my caster from -1 degree without the lift to +2 degrees with the lift!

Made some slight exhaust modifications as the resonator was touching the rear bar.

Also managed to pick up some USA made sockets for 5 bucks.

Craftsman USA: 19, 17, 14, 13, 9
Armstrong: 11, 10
A random 10mm with no markings

And my first ever Snap-On item, a 1/4 drive 7/16 socket that I bought just because 🤣

In preparation for living in the Mojave desert for the next couple of years had ceramic tint installed on the troopy.

Blocks the heat, but now also has blacked out my cargo area so fewer peeping eyes.

Also, did you sort out your rear camera?
I spliced into my reverse lights right at the rear and it's worked great... camera gets power and turns on based on shifting into reverse. That overrides my head unit video signal and it works like a champ.

I'd been tempted to put a manual reverse camera switch in... but it'd require running a dedicated circuit all the way to the back. Piggybacking on the reverse light wiring prevented that for now. Stilling thinking about a manual switch...

I'd fallen behind on your build. Loving it man.
Where'd you source the front door rain-guard visor deals? eBay from AUS?
Glad you're enjoying it! Need to link up sometime now that I'm up here in the high desert. I got the front door "weathershields" from OCAM4x4 when I got my mirrors. I haven't put in my rear camera yet. Was waiting until I did the rooftop conversion, then will probably put it up high like a sprinter so I have a top down view. Will need to splice into my reverse lights for sure! I had to tap into them already when I installed my rear bumper as the tire swingout now blocks the OEM brake light on the passenger side.

The Alu-Innovations pop top also has a rear brake light up top above the rear doors, so will need to wire that in as well.

I'd been trying to figure out how exactly to wire in the "reverse switch" so my head unit auto converts, but hopefully mine also works with taping into the reverse lights.

Picked up this toolbox and locker before I moved up to the desert. Should be able to put all my tools, electrical stuff, and everything else into this box instead of having it strewn all over my garage like my last house!

I used this reverse camera... Amazon.com - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074KZSVD6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
All credit to @c2dfj45, he repped it in one of his build threads. It has a dedicated line in its lead that triggers the head unit. Worked great with the JVC double-DIN I put in.

Get in grandpa, we're moving to the desert.

Towing from Camp Pendleton up to Twentynine Palms was miserable. Max speed of 55 otherwise the trailer started to sway way more than I was comfortable with.

Luckily, have arrived safely back in the Troopy's natural habitat of the desert.

I would expect the new Land Cruiser to be five lug, so no…
New Tundra and LX600 are six lug beIieve. Maybe should just find a picture and count the lugs...

I hope you got a brake controller on that 2 hundy ... thinking a uhaul + troppy is a wee bit more than they are rated to tow

Absolutely have a RedArc tow controller.

Troopy weighs I'm guessing around 6,000 lbs (I need to put this on a scale here soon), the trailer another 2,000. So right at the limit of their 8500 rating I'd say.

As a point of reference, I weighed my troopy recently at the trash scales and came out right around 5500 lbs. That’s with front and rear HD bump, pop top, and empty interior.

If you've never built a galvanized steel car shelter in 110 degrees and an "excessive heat warning" from noon to 3pm, I don't recommend it.

This will be the workspace that I continue to fit out the troopy in, particularly the pop top and the interior.

You got a black one not a white one .... WTF . you should have a look at what if any local shops there are to rent. You can often find share spaces or small shops in crappy industrial areas for well under $1 a sq ft ..
