I remember buying 15690 thinking I would need it and regretting that I did. Didn't need it. It is just a thin steel robust washer. If the threads are messed up on 15690 then that is when I would replace it. You should replace 15710B and the figure 8 o ring on the other drawing.
Thanks. I ordered it just in case because my leak is really bad. I took everything apart today and it looks like I didn't need it. Oh well, I just tell myself that if I didn't replace it, the leak would have come back. It was only $18, so not too bad.

Here is what the washer looks like:

So I put everything back together. I replaced the gaskets and all the hardware. It looks a lot better and I'm running it now to make sure the gaskets stayed in place. Thanks everyone for your help.

One question I do have is, am I missing something on the bracket where that 14 mm bolt goes? The bolt is just inside the bracket and not attached to anything. Here is a picture of what I'm talking about with the bolt removed.

All better:

Anyone replace the gasket/washer that goes to the Oil Cooler Union Bolt? It looks like you have to buy the bolt if you want to replace it.
I watched a youtube video where he replaced it on a GX. The part number is 90210-22001. I'm not sure if it will fit our vehicles though.

I replaced all 3 gaskets while I was doing it—including that one.

Why did you use 90210-22001?

There are only two seals in the oil cooler assembly.

The washer you replaced is not the correct. Can you show me your reference as to why you swapped a reusable steel washer with a washer 3x the thickness that is not listed to be used with a 2uz?

It is designed to be used with 2UZ. All 3 I mentioned fit perfectly.

(It’s a Lexus part upgrade.)

Interested to hear more about this. Are the oil cooler assemblies the same between the 100 and GX470?

GX 470 shares part number with V8 4Runner of same era (off by 1 digit vs. Land Cruiser), but all are 2UZ-FE.

Interesting. I found that the oil cooler assemblies have different parts #s for the 100 and GX470.

100: 15710-50020
GX470: 15710-50070

But both do use that same "valve assembly" of 15695-50010.

I wonder where the idea of interchanging these came from?

I don’t know if anyone suggested replacing one with the other. I merely used the gaskets suggested.

So you trusted some random guy on YouTube? There is no discussion about that washer upgrade anywhere online.

You’re crazy man

The bracket is two piece. With one short bolt holding the pieces together. Looks like your missing the short bolt.

It’s a washer on a virtually identical part on the same engine—I think it’ll be ok.
