I'd check out local junkyards for a seat. I picked up a set of nice black leather Mercedes seats for $100. But if you're looking for a stock 40 seat (that will need new foam and vinyl) my gnomes have 3 sets...

It really is amazing what you can find at a salvage yard if you are willing to put in the time. My wife runs a used car lot and finds all kinds of replacement parts through a local and nationwide network of salvage yards. We found a perfect set of bucket seats and console for her father's 1996 Chevy PU. It came with an uncomfortable bench. 15 minutes at the salvage yard and I found them in a wrecked PU same year. All the bolt holes lines up etc, had to drill a couple for the console.

for sale: Benelli super black eagle 1.

This gun is virtually brand new. It has had less than a box of shells though it and does not have a single scratch on it.

The sbe has a 26 inch barrel and a walnut stock. It shoots 2 3/4, 3 and 3 1/2 inch shells.

This is a great gun. I have the exact same gun and have thousands of rounds through it with 0 problems. I also have a browning, remington, and savage, and have not hunted with these guns since getting the sbe 11 years ago.

The gun comes with the original case, and cylinder, improved, modified, improved modified and full chokes.

Again this thing could be in a showroom as a new gun!! The gun is in raleigh if anyone would like to see it.

Edit: I believe i have the manual for it as well.

Old mercedes, saab and volvo seats from the 80s-early 90s are some of the best made and most comfortable seats ever made and slide into cruisers and jeeps like butter.

So that's where Greg's gnomes vacated to :hillbilly:

The Audi seats that replaced my front seats are almost too comfy-but they ride higher offer lumbar support AND if I'm feeling froggy I can run wiring to heat them! However I question the idea of heating PS front seat when its centimeters from the gas tank!

Yeah even if it was outing off massive amounts of fumes a seat heater wouldn't hit ignition temp.

Apparently - you havent had the chance to witness my skills. I believe I could set ice cubes on fire.

Or does everyone break something every.single.time they work on it??:grinpimp:

The breaking things is a combination of you being new to mechanics, for the most part, and the age of the vehicle. As you gain experience you will gain a more gentle touch with things that require it. You'll spray penetrating oil on some bolts a week before you plan to work on them and spray them at least two more times after that.

I am with you on the fuel tank, If I ever get to work on my 40 I plan to relocate the tank so I can lower the drivers seat away from the steering wheel (RHD). I read that a Chevy S-10 feul tank fits nicely between the frame rails behind the rear axle.

Be sure to check out the seat heaters when you first hook them up. Heather had a Caddy at the lot and brought it home one night when her car was in for service. The seat heater on the DS burned THROUGH THE LEATHER and opened up her goose down coat. Scary.

WANTED: Valve shims (1FZ-FE)

A long shot but ...

I am heading into a valve measurement event in an attemt to alleviate a tick. If the tick is in the valves (my current guess) I would like to have some shims on hand to try getting into spec.

It would be awesome if ONSC had a shim collection that floated from member to member as the need arrises. While I doubt it exist yet I'm happy to work towards getting one started.

Are there any current shims floating around that could be used to begin a "shim pool"?

Thanks,
Rice

If you would rather work out a trade.

Anyone know a good source for a carb spacer/insulator for a F155 engine? I attempted to install my new troll hole carb and ended up doing this to my spacer trying to bend the tube to fit.

Do some have the vacuum tube that comes straight off the spacer instead of bending up at a 45 degree angle? Trying to figure out why folks say his carbs are just plug and play since that's not the case for me.
