This time next year would work better for me! I would seriously like a truck like yours but am in no position to buy at this point. I wish I could help. Best of luck.

That 74 was the very first one we went to look at, my husband (a native Maine boy) is very good at spotting rust and undercover issues - here's what I remember from it

One of the crossmembers are almost completely crushed - paint job is new, rear quarters have a decent amount of bondo, tub had been lined - seemed very spongy, guessing lots of pinhole rust covered up in the tub. The owner is nice enough, but he bought it out of Charlotte at a "great price" and wouldnt take any less than $7500. I got the feeling he felt this would be a quick profit flip.

The seals around the windows are all new, but the opaque blue paint job that was put on is done sloppily over these new seals in a few places..

Now that I have a 40 and know how the engine sounds when it runs well, possibly needs a new starter (Im sure engine issues for this particular group of guys is merely a bargaining chip, not make or break for a deal) Ran real rough.

He is very serious about his asking price - at least he was 3 months ago. I didnt know ANYTHING about 40s when we looked at that one - and thats just what we found. Once the huz pointed out the crossmember issue, I had no need to look any further.
