@radman, too:

So what do you guys think? Would you recommend the iKamper?
I love it, and have already lost track of the number of nights we’ve slept in it (I’ll probably go back and try to figure it out at some point). It’s the only hard shell that unfolds to the size it is (actually, there might be a few knockoffs hitting the market now).
Everything is top quality (zippers, fabric, hinges, etc), and we managed to comfortably sleep our family of 6 in it - My wife and I are both over 6’ tall and I think the tallest kid is almost 4’. It literally opens in less than a minute (add another min of you want to put up the awning rods), but it takes me closer to 5 to close it up - cleaning and tucking all the things.
Everyone (including myself) adds carpet to the aluminum base as a condensation barrier (mod all the things!), and I actually think this is what’s causing my tight closing issues. Carpet at 3/16-1/4” multiplied by 2 when it folds on itself may be adding too much thickness to the fold.

i like to mentally deduct $150/night from the cost because that’s how much I would have paid to sleep in a mediocre holiday inn 😂
Also, these things have wicked resell value, and I can still dump it for more than I paid for it!
(I got lucky and had an rei manager let me use a 20% coupon on it)

Installed a free winch... with photoshop. Playing with the the idea of an HWM and hybrid lower bumper. ~100lbs. Hrmm...

Pretty good. I saw you can get the ARB frame mounts with crush zone separate from the bumper. Would be easy to stick a winch cradle on top and add plate to taste.

I am officially a 200 series owner!

I have been on this forum for a few years. I researched and read and watched videos, I test drove both the LC and the LX about 4 years ago. I knew it was right for me, but I needed prices on the 2016+ models to drop before I could get one. My vehicle was a Sequoia Platinum as my daily driver. I loved that beast, but figured I had another year before the 2016 200 models were in my range.

Well, on 11/30/20, I was rear ended at some speed by a commercial box truck. The driver had some sort of medical event that caused it. My wife and I walked away. Actually, the beast was drivable. I drove it to the nearest body shop. But the damage was massive and she was declared a total loss.

It took more than 2 months to wrestle my insurance company into a fair settlement, but I got it. And this beauty came up with perfect maintenance history and all. I am so pleased. I rented a car and drove 260 miles to get her. 2017:

And drove her home yesterday.

To do list:
Order remote control and covers for DVD screens- did this morning.
It is at 60,000 miles and the AHC is on the maintenance schedule. Talk to a dealer about it.
I have 18" black Tundra wheels, figure out which tire I want - 285-60/18 in a P Michelin LTX? Or 285-65/18 in an LT maybe a KO2? I am unsure what the trade off in ride quality will be. Better because 21 to 18, but worse because aggressive tread and P vs LT. Any advice here would be appreciated.
Call a local Cruiser outfitters type place and ask about drawers, probably ARB, and figure out a sleeping platform to use with them.

That is it for now. I am so pleased.

Beautiful truck! If ride quality is what you're after you should go with the P Michelin LTX. KO2s will ride much worse. Even LT-Michelin LTX vs KO2 there was a big difference I've had both.

Thank you for that. How much of that do you think is offset by going from 21 to 18 and having more rubber?

If I go with the LT Michelin, there are more sizes available than if I stick to P.

Congrats on the new LX and thank goodness you did not get hurt in the accident.

Both options will be an improvement in ride over the 21s. An LT will always provide a less comfortable ride and ATs will bring it down another notch.

Having said that, going from a stock 21 P to an 18 KO2 will still be improved, IMO. Handling does suffer, but as this is a 6500 lb truck, I’ve never understood the move to larger wheels. I know it’s partially about aesthetics but they also look out of place too so...,

In any case, buy the tire that fits your planned use of your truck. If you just plan on doing some light off road like FS roads, you may not need LT.

I did 275/70/18 LT Michelin Defenders and loved them. 285/65/18 is cool too. 295/70/18 is available too but will require some work to get it to fit.

21 inch to 18 inch will make a big difference but that's like for like. What are you trying to achieve with the new tire?
