Trust me, having you there as mental support helped tremendously! Plus, I was looking forward to cracking more beers! I think we were a couple cases short HAHA
The extra day did impact the supply we had getting off the trail... like none. Glad I had that bottle of Woodford stashed away for emergencies.

Was down south with the kids so took them out to our friends vineyard where we got married.

No real offroading necessary this trip

New to me 2010!! Bought pristine and rust free from the south, just to bring to Chicago to immediately get all salty...

Frame treatment coming soon. And we’ll be in a house with garage next week.

Nice! Delivered or did you drive it home? Wondering about wind noise from that Rhino Rack..

Drove it, 786 miles since yesterday! It's not bad. Certainly noticeable with the sunroof shade open, but not too bad with the shade closed. I may look into some sort of faring for it though.

Had a Gamiviti rack with faring on my old GX and it was about the same noise-wise.

Thanks! I’m thinking a rack is next in line for me. I keep coming back to the Rhino.

Another Chicago person! Love those wheels, they were on my short list.

I know I’ve said it before but your build has really turned out amazing. Easily one of the nicest looking rigs around, imo.

Dang I really appreciate you saying that. I’ve spent more time than I’m proud to admit staring at your rig! Considering a rear bumper next.

It’s hard to tell, but in this pic is that some sort of gear loft?
Yeah, I've been bootstrapping a DIY version of the Kaon shelf. I bought their nuts and bolts kit (you can now also buy the bracket itself, which would make it much easier), and have been playing around with it for a couple months.

Most recent thought was that I'd have the shelf in rails and have the option to slide it out to use as a table at camp. Haven't started construction of the new rails yet, but did find some left over C channel from long ago to try out.

I tried some 3/8" plywood - was too flexible. I'm now using a wire grid intended for advertising / retail displays.

Nice! Clever DIY work. Would be really cool with a slide out platform.

I am not sure how I didn't know about the Kaon before. I have been looking for something like that. I may have to get one, but your setup also has me inspired to think about something more customized to my needs.
