Got my first "trail damage", which was actually @Skrewball flying into my slider when I was on my side. So, now I am on the market for some metal sliders that sit flush with the side wings (ESC and receiver mount platforms).

I also wired up a Castle external BEC for my Power HD WP-23kg steering servo
I used a JST Y-splice from the stock ESC fan plug (it puts out direct battery power, bypassing the internal BEC) to power the BEC and connected it all with a Holmes Hobby receiver bypass harness (the one with an additional JST plug so I can run lights later).
It was simple once I figured out that I could wore it all up without splicing into and soldering the BEC power leads. It is totally modular, scalable, and reversible.
The harness with the yellow wire is the HH Rx bypass and I siliconed the BEC to waterproof it.

A pic of the JST connectors from the LHS. It's simpler and cheaper to build your own wire looms this way. Also the castle BEC programmer so I can up the voltage to 6.6V to the steering servo.

I also picked up a killer body bull bar for the LC70 body, it was on sale at Asiatees.com and was 1/2 the price of the CChand bullbar and came with led lights and light inserts for the LC70 body as well.

Think I finally broke my venerable TRX4.
There is normally some sticktion in the suspension after the truck has been sitting, but, not like this....

Maybe a bent shock shaft, or dented shock body....

Don't have the time to invesigate untill after Theo's birthday party this weekend....

This ended up being a bent shock shaft and was easily straightened and put back into service with some help from Theo.
Can't imagine how that shock got bent, cough cough, @JJ, @Isis

I did find a set of shocks on ebay and am going to to adapt them to my Trail Finder II along with a three link front end.

Speaking of shocks.... I am looking at a set of Traxxas shocks for my scx 10ii. They seem like they should fit I may have to tweak the upper shock eye. $50 for a set of 4 on eBay seems like a good deal. Does anyone have experience with putting those shocks on a SCX10 ii?

Nice job on the fix Pacer. At least next time the kids can beat on my rig to help spread out the carnage!

No personal experience with these on any rig other than my TRX-4. Though, I have read that the Traxxas shock are some of the best.

This is a picture comparing the scx 10 shocks and the Traxxas shocks the ebay vender sent me. Does anybody have experience with the Traxxas Big bore shocks? They are also listed on eBay for $50 a set of 4.

I don't see why they wouldn't work...
Guys on RCcrawler forum are running them on their scx10s.

It should be no problem to pop those misalignment swivel jawns out and swap them between shocks.

The Big Bore shocks will have a larger diameter and may interfere with the steering components.

Sick Stump! That’s the hardbody eh? You lost me back with all those electronic upgrades that’s above my pay grade. I got a little box of goodies last night from rpp. Honcho interior and wertymade truggy roundtube sliders. Installed the sliders and took it for spin on the backyard rock pile and they definitely help and they look cool too. Going to paint and install the interior next couple days.

Used my rewards and had 10$ off coupon for hobby town and got some new proline rubber and axial beadlocks! Always liked Krawlers was a toss up between the TSLs and Krawlers. I was surprised how easy they mounted up.

Are you going to paint the top flares? As it is in those pictures I’m leaning towards the second set. The detail on that body is insane! There gonna be a little yota Diesel engine under the hood? I’m about to do some surgery to the body of the honcho. Need to clearance the wheel wells a little new rubber rubs pretty bad. Also going to install a 01-04 Tacoma grill and headlight/ turn signal set into the front end. Kinda nervous I’m going to f**k it up. New Krawlers work much better than the falken wild peaks happy with those and the beadlocks look sick.
