Mine I got unrestored. It was a 77 Cali spec so not a huge market for those I guess. Lmk your unrestored/restored price and I'll let him know. I'm guessing he'll want to do the rebuild himself but maybe not.

$400 Really??? Wow!!!
I need to throw away my volt meter and start rebuilding carbs.
He (his peeps) is REALLY good at it. He also has a flow table to set the carb. I merely set the carb to factory specs, which in my experience, works for 95% of the engines. If you change cams or valves, and in some cases desmog, you might see some improvement with changing main jets. Also, on some later carbs, swapping in larger jets improves performance, since Toyota installed the smaller jets to meet the '80's emissions requirements.

You guys are making me fall in love with FI all over again.

I've had a whole setup to do a 2FE swap into my 40 for like 4 years, but my carbed engine has been running well, so I haven't felt the urge to rip out a fine running engine.

As I asked above, I'm just trying to figure out how much you want for the carb but at this point don't worry about it.

Is he going to be a club member? If so, the cost is $175, which includes the cost of the Keyster rebuild kit.

Haven't asked but he's in Blacksburg so not really local. I'll let him know the deal though. Thanks.

Ah, gotcha. A racerx carb is $300 and a JimC rebuild is $400. If he is mechanically inclined and has an FSM, he can do it. Though, if he isn't familiar with Cruiser carbs, going it alone the 1st time can be a gamble.

Looking for a set of stock torsion bars for a 100.

Upgraded mine to Dobinsons when I thought I’d be going with a bumper and winch...but ended up going with a hidden winch and think the Dobinsons are too stiff for this setup....

I will be taking mine off to install Ironman bars. I am looking for a set for my Daughters rig though. Interested in a trade?

I'd prefer to buy a set outright so I can put them on and try 'em out before selling the Dobinsons TBs. Would hate to swap them out and then realize it was a terrible idea. . . would it work to buy your take-offs and then, if they work out, sell you my Dobinsons?

How's the ride now with the Dobinsons and hidden winch/mount?

I'll be in the same predicament pretty soon.

I think that stock torsion bars will be fine with the hidden winch/mount. It's under 100 lbs. But I'm no IFS expert.

Feels rough, and I'm suspecting stock TBs could've been cranked/re-indexed to adjust height for the extra weight, but cannot be sure, since I immediately gave mine to a friend who was doing an AHC delete. I've got a 2nd battery, 12.5k Comeup Winch, and TT hidden winch mount--probably 150 extra lbs in all, maybe pushing 200. But it feels stiff on bumps.

It's possible that the Dobinson's shocks are just too stiff--that's why I'd like to swap TBs and see how it handles with that variable changed. Could be that I just need different shocks. . . .

That should work just fine. I should have mine installed by the end of August--Just waiting for a reasonably cool day. No worries if you find them somewhere else in the meantime.

Cheers!
