I'm a fleet manager (amongst other duties) at work. I manage a fleet of about 50 4x4 vehicles that see extreme use. Our Ford F150's have the most issues in our fleet. Our Chevy Tahoes have been fairly reliable, but of course our Toyota Tundras have been problem free. It took an act of congress to get the Tundras in our fleet some years ago, but as long as i am over purchasing, ill continue to add them. Resale is a no brainer.

Has anyone out there with a front runner rack purposely installed the rack portion upside down to gain more clearance / lower profile look?

Installed properly the rack has an 1 - 2" lip all the way around the basket.
If inverted that lip would cover up 1 - 2" of the rack rails and IMO look better.

I know 100 series guys with the Gamiviti rack systems have done it and looks good.

Not sure the lip is important if all cargo when in use is locked down with the T-slot bolts and tie downs.

Let's hear what you think.
Thanks

I understand use of the side rail would be lost.

What's the best practice for cleaning our headliners?

I tried the armour all carpet and fabric cleaner. Worked well enough but never had anything other than a bit of dirt and dog hair stuck on the headliner. Drawer system allows the dogs to reach the roof.

a couple of teenagers decided to "wheel" daddy's stock F-150 after some monsoon rains hit the area last week. The runoff creek goes right past my backyard. I got to fish the ford out of the creek. 30' tow strap and Lo range, didn't slip one bit, just tugged them out. Toyo ATIIs did great.
Just in case anyone on this board didn't know already, Landcruisers rock.

And no pictures.... Shame on you..... :)

working on pics....was humerous to say the least. Got a "my dads gonna whoop my butt for this" vibe

I just got back form a road trip. Los Angeles to Dallas and back. I kept thinking to myself how much more fun the drive would've been on a LC200 compared to my Civic.

I ordered a FrontRunner rack for the 2Hundy. Took advantage of the Labor Day weekend sale. It showed up today. Now I gotta get busy with assembly and installation.

Yes, you can install the tray upside down as long as the legs will clear the (now hanging down) lip. Downside is the labels will be upside down, there will be no lip on top (not really an issue as you mentioned), and may not be able to use the table slide. Upside is an extra inch to fit in your garage. I was prepared to do this if I couldn't fit in the garage, but luckily I could.

BTW: love the Front Runner. Some of the others are nice as well, but I really like how modular the FR is and easy it is to bolt stuff to it.

A buddy who is not an enthusiast bought a new 200 LC because he liked not sticking out in a bling mobile (escalade or Range Rover). I just showed him a few off road features like tight turning in crawl control. I think he almost crap a brick when the gadgets started making all the noises and taking over. Made me remember the first time my 100 made similar noises using ATrac. I think he thinks I broke something. It was kinda humorous to see him squirm. Now to just get him to keep it long enough for me to buy it.

Anyone recommend new wiper blades? Rainx, Bosch or just put in new inserts on factory set up?

I bought some rainx ones right as I entered Colorado and they are $$ but I like them mucho

OEM inserts from BENO

I'm curious what year the LC got crawl control? Has it been available since 2008 with 5 speeds?

the LC got crawl control in 2008, original it was 3 speeds, in 2013 it was updated with 5 speeds... The speeds represnt KPH..

cool, thank you. Just to clarify 1 is 1 kph, 3 is 3 kph and 5 is kph? for the speed settings on a US spec LC200?
