Anybody look into this or any of you in Australia have any feedback? Are they not popular there? I don't think I've ever seen a 200 with one on. Is it a direct replacement? Any cutting involved? Cost?

I looked into it.

1. I couldn't find anyone to export them to the US
2. They are frowned upon in Australia
3. They are known for having weak mounting brackets, though IIRC Toyota fixed the issue.
4. IIRC, it does require cutting
5. Offers no distinct advantages over other bars in the industry besides being the cool factor for being from Toyota.

Those in the UAE might have noticed the weather reports stating widespread dust.
Yes, I did go to the desert but I definitely had no part in creating that foul weather!

Toyota Ever Better (toyotaeverbetter.com) event today at the Denver region office. Who doesn't want to chat it up with engineers that build...

I think the frame and drivetrain are from a tacoma!?!?!

"I pitty the foo" that has to be winched out by a minivan

Looks like the minivan RoboCop would drive if he had lots of little robobabies....

I am officially declaring steamboat springs as the land cruiser capital... In my 4 days here this time I've counted 23 cruisers! That doesn't even compare to the number of 4Runner, FJ, Tacoma, and tundras here.

All 200s?

Do our rigs recognize (owners) driving styles and recalibrate any stock settings? I ask because I know Merc's do that so I know it's out there.

Also, when I fill up on gas my "cruising range" is now showing 200 miles - piss poor range.

What range are other 08's reading after a fill up on gas?
Thanks

No doubt. Thanks
I thought it had a range of or close to 300 miles when I bought it.
Maybe that was a dream

I think the range just looks at some prior period... last tank, or last couple of tanks, and then just does the math from there. If your last avg MPG was 10, then the range would show 200 since I'm almost certain the range is to when the light comes on which leaves 20 gal or so. If you were on a road trip averaging 15 mpg, it would show 300.

At least that's my theory.

Makes sense

The range computer estimates it after fillup based on the last average MPG. So if you averaged 12 it will tell you 20x12 = 240 (Low fuel comes on with 4 gallons or so left) It will change up or down after some miles are accumulated on that tank. I have seen 380 one time, but I rarely look at that menu options. I usually see 340ish, but I get pretty solid fuel economy because I am about 90% highway with the cruise control set.

This was all from 1 tank of fuel. 19avg crept up a bit. Ended up with over 400 miles on 21 gallons. Same fuel station, time of day and pretty similar weather conditions.

Thanks for breaking that down. Great explanation. You must drive like a hyper-miler to get a constant 19 mpg.
I'll pay attention to that now and see what I can achieve.
