OEM Hand Throtle

One of our local dealers supports our club financially and I try to give them my business first. I should have said, I'd like to get it from them to support them in exchange, and as an additional benefit they give us a parts discount. The parts discount is not my sole motivation for going there.

Fair enough, and a loyal customer to boot.

A much better explanation. It is clear that you re-read your original post and understand the implication that it made.

Of course I snapped at you and I do not like the fact that I did.

I am a huge believer in "intelectual property" and it bothers me when an idea or product is "ripped off". This was certainly not your intent but it kinda sounded like it. It would be one thing if he wanted stupid money for it but he really doesn't. It certainly should be worth something for the effort put forth to find out what works, looks right and fits perfectly so that others do not have to fund experiments from their own billfolds or perhaps do not have the resources to import small quantities for a niche market.

Another 12/94 with bracket.

So much for 93 being the best year...

odd when I added a HT to both my fj80 and fj60 I ordered the parts right from my local dealer.........I want to say less then $50 for each, no issue finding the part #, but this was 4+ years ago

So can you directly swap the pedal in a 93 with one from a 94+ to get the L bracket to attach the hand throttle too?

You can swap the pedals, the only difference is the additional tab. A new pedal assembly, with tab, lists for $47.13

well Al says I must have given him the part # for the 80 series hand throttle.....but I have no clue where i got it from......and can't find it for the life of me.

now I am wondering if I used a fj60 or fj62 HT?

It might.

It appears that the top of the pedal has a similar gizmo attached to it. It does look like the 62 cable fits through a much larger hole than the 80 cable does. The dress nut is 20mm for a 62 and 14mm for an 80.

When I had both a 62 and an 80, it seemed to me that the hand throttles were different. That's not to say that you couldn't make one work in the other, especially if you had some spare mtn. bike brake parts laying around.

And I actually use mine for wheeling every now and then.. you know those sections in low range that are uphill, aren't technical, a constant speed is the way to go and you've got another truck in front of you so there's really no incentive for going any faster anyway? Kinda nice to pull out the cruise, sit back, and let the thing crawl..

edit: 02/96 has it. ;)

5/96 LX450 does not have it (at least mine doesn't)

Dan are you sure the new pedal will come with a Tab ( L Bracket for hand throttle) ?

I want to order a new Complete pedal but need assuarance that it will have the missing L bracket for the H.T. that my existing pedal is missing.
Thanks Dan

The new one sitting in my office has one on it...;)

I called up Slee yesterday and apparently the hand throttles are not in stock at this time. They were not sure when they would be available.

seems like its kinda random which year of the US that got the HT, none on the 91-2 for sure, all 97 have it......some years inbetween do....some don't.

I'll gander at my 60-62-80 HT and see if any are the same, I am now thinking there are some differences as Dan mentioned, but prolly would work.

Dan I will call Tues morning if you can sit on that pedal with the L bracket for me.
