Overfilled half a qt, max. I did change to 50w after it was previously running 30w. That have anything to do with it maybe?

I know I'm grasping...just feel sick thinking about what it might be.

No where near enough to cause a problem. I assume you mean 20W50 and not straight 50W...

Check your PCV. Are you building block pressure?

Check the PCV first. Remove it and shake it. Should rattle. If not clean it out with some carb or brake cleaner. It will free up. Reinstall the try it out. Hoping for the best...

I'm hoping it's simple. Gut says different. It's been too smooth for too long.
Still betting it's something "simple." Changing the oil - even slightly overfilling it - is not likely to cause a catastrophic change.

Can you give us an idea how much it's smoking (maybe a video?) Also, rather than cleaning your PCV - which could work - just replace it to make sure (they're really cheap). Also, any changes to the carb before/after you changed the oil?

It's more of a blue/black burnt oil smell. I'm gonna drain and refill, check the oil out during that process.

Does not smell like a fuel/rich issue to me.

If it is oil and not fuel and the PCV system is working correctly it is likely to be more serious. Has it been sitting for a while? Could be something like a broken oil ring. Pull the plugs one at a time and take pics if each one. Sorry bud.

Yes, been sitting for a couple months with nothing but regular cranks for idle. But wasn't smoking then...

I'll pull the plugs and take pics. Also gonna check PCV. Might try to do this today.

I would go get diesel oil. 15/45 few more detergents in oil to help

I'm running the 20w50 Rotella for diesels now...

This is in my PCV stem
