Again, the problem I'm having is that Bobby Longs supplier will no longer do small runs. A year ago I could order 10 of a specific size but now, after talking to him yesterday, he says they won't do less than 20 so every size requires a
2800.00 investment.
He told me that Front Range orders long blanks , only splined at the birfield side.
I'll talk to them and find out what they charge for custom sizes

i think id rather just do the Short side longer, ~61" should be plenty wide.. but you may be able to sell them!

For reference my front is 61" wide (fj60 axle=58" + 1.5" spacers) My cruiser is on 40s and the wheels are 3" backspacing so normal offset wheels would be about -1.5"

I'm waiting on a busy machinist for a outer axle seal retainer.I'm pushing but apparently not with enough green to get to the front of the line

any updates on getting the axle under the cruiser? Also, lcwizard any updates on the rear FF setup? Thanks!

Just so i'm understanding this correctly, 80 series housings with 80 series poly rear axles and bobby long's is not a significant enough upgrade? I was surprised because a lot of 80 owners with all the gear they carry have 6,500+lbs. on them and don't pop them too terribly often.

Or is it more of an offset issue?

it is more of a use issue..

you saying the 80s are wheelin' the mall lots too often?

I would never say that :D

The 80 series is just becoming more accepted as a capable off road rig. Untill it gets as much off road time as the 40/55/60's have. You won't see the carnage..

I like the the stance, if you want to go even wider, I decided to spring for not only an extended short side but also an extended 60 long side so front 60
housing can be widened 5 1/4" inches too. If that's not enough you can still add spacers

I finished mine up yesterday and took a few pictures.
Its 61" with NO spacers. It looks like its real wide but my fenders are cut back quite a bit. I think the width will be just right for a 40.
Thanks Dave for an awesome product!:bounce2:
