Yeah like they had to choose between sema and working on their dance moves? What a bunch of liars. I guess it would be fun for them to bring out their 79 right before they have to ship it out of the country since their import exemption is about to expire.

ffs.

When the exemption expires, could they put the truck under a full scale plexiglas cover, like it's a museum piece, charge for tours?
/sarc :D

Maybe they'll just have use it as a life size Tomica model

Unreal. If nothing else, it's a slimy move trying to ride your coattails like that.

Or to ruin my brand by associating their criminal selves with my name.

The Japanese characters on their "site" read "revenge/recovery". What asshats lol. Mike Papp must be seriously unhinged. He's really upset that his scam got shutdown thanks to this thread. Now we need to shutdown his new scam lol.

I guess these guys are getting upset that I keep calling them out on their scams. Funny that they have so much time to harass me and scam people when they’re “so busy” with LC America.

http://landcruisers-direct.com/

I’d just contact your attorney and have him send a C&D. He can’t use your name in any way. Im assuming you’ve registered your mark.

What a d!ck. At least he was honest about his (Papp Bros) intentions "COMING SOON TO WREAK HAVOC ON THE LANDCRUISER COMMUNITY"

@SteveJackson you have such a good reputation, they cant do anything to taint you, just keep doing what you have been and importing awesome cruisers for us.

From,
Future Customer

And that folks is why you should do your homework before buying anything online, especially a Land Cruiser!

The drama and cat fight is still probably going down over there on FB.

:poop:

Cheers

I can’t get past the fact that you have T-Mobile.

Just busting your balls.

I wouldn’t even acknowledge his existence. He will be getting his s*** pushed in soon enough.

I don’t even get this. The US market LC is such a niche product, let alone a ln import one. Anyone who does their research will find out within an hour or two most of what they need to know buying one. Why does he keep beating a dead horse? Are ‘Cruisers surging the much in popularity?

I found it interesting that Papp-smear didn’t respond regarding the active lawsuit or his scam to rip people off.

I got a voicemail from someone claiming to be “John Papp”, wanting to talk about how to “move forward in a positive way.” Typical scammer move to try and have a private conversation and say things differently than they do publicly. I feel like suggesting the only way to move forward positively is for them to shut down their scam and find another community to try and rip off.

"Never argue with an idiot, they will beat you up with years of experience and bring you down to their level"

I do not know you Steve, but your continued argument with this guy on a public venue proves the above statement to be true. There is zero benefit in it for you. He will not admit anything if he is the con man he is said to be. Just an observation.

Funny though how everyone knows them at this point. There's 70 pages now on how they are scammers and another thread on how they're being sued. These guys are complete morons

And yet, regularly, someone comes along with a “I can’t believe I got ripped off by the Papp Brothers...” thread/post.

There are plenty of suckers and stupid people out there. As the saying goes “they will run out of days before they will run out of people to rip off!”

I agree. I understand wanting to protect your own name and reputation. Trying to show other people what a scammer these guys are. But they are better at scamming people than anyone else is at exposing them. They will never admit it publicly.

So, stop. Move on. If they rip someone else off that person had plenty of notice. Like I said before “I almost don’t feel bad for them (the people getting ripped off) anymore.”

I get dozens of emails from people who are not on iH8mud. Lots of these people when I suggested this forum as a resource for information they say to me, nah I don't do forums or whatever excuse they have.

And how many of you out there have googled a seller before buying something?

I get dozens of emails from scammers when I list something on Craigslist. It is easy to weed them out, you tell them to call. If I am buying, I ask for more pics and specific ones which you can't provide if you don't have the truck. It is pretty simple rules and easy to follow so you don't become a victim. And really, who wires thousands of dollars to some joe blow on the internet anyways? I been buying (and selling) trucks for nearly two decades. I never take or send more than a $500 deposit and it is always a face to face transaction when the purchase/sale takes place even if I am buying something far away from me. I will fly out in that case. Others really should follow the same kind of guidelines and there won't be any scams other than maybe that $500 lost if you encounter an expert scam artist. In all my years buying stuff in the internet, hundreds of thousands of dollars mind you, I only ever once got ripped off and it was for $50 on eBay 15yrs ago.

I am interested to hear about the VDJ79 at Overland West. Besides that I don't really care about any of this.

And FFS man they do really have the VDJ79. That is soooooo much strange effort and cash wrapped up in a scam just to try and rip people off. Not only do I not get that at all, I would like to see how that plays out. Sure we can say and even agree they are low life's, have mental issues are out to scam people or whatever but they still have the VDJ79. What they spent $80k + all expenses on that venture just to try and rip off a few suckers who want a VDJ79? That makes zero sense to me. I suspect there is a lot more to this than a scam. Maybe some of all this is legit, maybe these guys are Cruiserheads, maybe they are trying to shake off past history with a new venture. It is never to late for somebody to change. Ya I know the past history that can be found by a quick google search. A lot of this is all hearsay though, it is easy to make a new account here and post that these guys ripped you off. Everybody is ready to lynch these guys so it is kind of like the Frankenstein movie where the villagers yell "get him".

I say let it play out. Sit back and watch. Jason seems to be the one who is actually talking to these guys, seeing the truck and so on and so forth. I know he wants a legit double cab 70 so again, let's see what happens.

My 3 cents.

Cheers
