Not mine, but supposed 2016 Land Cruiser Double Cab Pickup for sale...

At $120k+ for the G-wagon, our new 2017/2018 LC America's will cost you 1/3rd less, be far more capable and -- as the LC America is based on the Toyota chassis -- far more reliable.

Beno --

No doubt the factory system is sufficient in most cases. I suspect that the Patriot -- given the added length and weight and larger tires -- has 4 wheel disk brakes, but I am not certain. Do you know? Are you suggesting that the current disk/drum setup on this specific vehicle is as capable as a full 4 wheel disk setup? This has nothing to do with sales, just safety.

JP.

Are you bringing in these “newish" 79 series (what years are you looking to bring in?) with drums vice the factory 4-wheel disc? If drums, why? Will they come with the factory ABS? Airbags?

My’97 HZJ-75 had 4 wheel disc, 4 piston in the front and the 80 series calipers in the rear, FJ80 Series Master, dual diaphram stock, all on a lift and larger tires, dual fuel tanks and armor. My troo pie, loaded down never had any problems stopping. I was not doing “rally crossing” but moderate wheeling and camping out of the back was no issues HZJ-75 stock brakes
:meh:

Will it have a crack-pipe holder? Definitely gonna need one. A little supply of what you've been smoking will put you on top of customer satisfaction surveys.

Maybe @decavo will starts talking about his poop here as well? Because that's all I smell. BS coming from Mr. Papp. 50+ pages and nothing to deliver.

No kidding, $40K was what Uncle Sugar was paying for HZJ-76/79s, and that was paying no taxes or shipping as we just rolled them into the back of a Herc and flew them to Stan;)

Certainly a waste of my time.

You keep saying that, you keep insulting people here, you keep saying how "dumb" this forum is, why do you keep coming back?

When was it not? :slap:

Agreed!

Beno -- I threw you a softball. Talk to me about 4 wheel disk brakes. I get a swing and a miss, not even a hint of being willing to enter into a discussion about performance or safety or anything. And I guess if I can't get you to jump in to discuss something as basic as disk brakes, I'm not going to have much luck with anyone else with a similarly straightforward question.

It just took me far too long to figure it out.

And I am sorry, but I've not insulted anyone on this forum. And if I have, it was not my intent and I offer my sincere apologies.

Lol, I realize reality isn't part of your world view, I would expect nothing less.

Beno did respond. By saying they're good enough and don't need modification. SOmeone else brought up a good point of what years are you looking at as some do have factory rear disc.

The thought of a sodomy lesson got his attention.:moon:

Again, I was trying to start a discussion on why we would not want to upgrade older drum brake technology with newer disk brake technology. Again, whenever we have had the option in the past to replace drum brakes with disk brakes -- on older Ford Bronco or Scout or Jeep or FJ -- they get changed out for safety and performance reasons. I was just not understanding why the brakes on these trucks would be any different. Regardless, we have only ever been looking at the 2017 and newer trucks. They come with front disk and rear drum brakes.
