Glad to have you here. I apologize for any vitrol on my part. We have been trying for decades to do what you have done, and there is a lot of pent up frustration as a result.

I would like to see a picture of the documentation, or at least a picture of the truck with a handwritten time stamp.

Although I admit I still have some doubt, I am glad to see someone succeed in bringing these trucks over. The price is a bit steep for me but it is really great for those that can afford it. I wish I could jump on this truck if it is indeed legit.

Doing a few number of vehicles and then stopping is probably the best thing to do. If Toyota gets wind of this being done on a mass scale (and trust me, TMS will freak out)...then I predict that "Al-Futtaim" and anyone else like him will be told by Toyota to cease any further sales to clients in the US and/or they will convince the Feds to close whatever loophole Mike used.

Wow!!!! Real nice truck.

Auction is cancelled, seller states he sold to a national "4WD chain". Three days and 12 email chains he kept promising to show the documentation that the vehicle has been modified to conform with FMVSS and EPA standards. Instead, he sent me the VIN 3 times and nothing else. Stock photos, refusal to provide documentation and cancelling the auction early (and before the "open house" this weekend). Draw your own conclusions!

Anyone within their right mind would steer clear of this. Skylines, Defenders, probably some other cars have all dealt with this in the past and ended up with their car crushed.

Um, open house is still on for this weekend, knucklehead. Everyone who got directions for this weekend is aware of that.

Steve, regarding you? I have definitely drawn my own conclusions.

By the way, wouldn't you be considered a competitor? One that got owned by my doing this?

We'll all be hating again in February/March, talk to you all then.

Michael

No surprise based on his history. Maybe related Greg Mushro:eek:

I'm a customer! I'd love to own this truck! I don't think 80K base model HZJ79's is a business, but there are quite a few people who would love to have one, even at that price. I'd still love to have it, but the fact you won't provide promised information and have some quite dodgy responses to inquiries leaves me questioning the validity of your claims. I'd love to be proven wrong, I'm a cash buyer! Still waiting for the photos as promised.

It would be a good private collection/showroom truck. They can't crush it if they can't find it!!!

You haven't given anyone here one shred of proof that you actually possess these vehicles. Even if you do, you have not provided any proof that they are legit. Simply providing VIN only means nada. Not hating, just wondering when you are going to cough up the proof.

I have seen one of these in the US (with costa rican plates) before and the guy that owned it had to ship it back to Costa Rica after one year, I was told that was NOTHING he could do to keep it in the US longer than a year. Having seen one up close, I can confess they are really nice trucks.

i would have taken a photo of all 3 next to eachother, while nursing a semi
I would need a tripod to make sure the pic wasn't blurry.

This way will get it in your driveway. Not titled, unable to register, and would be confiscated as soon as it was assembled/started. They are getting much tougher on loose engines as well.
Last year I got a Mercedes 606 engine from the U.K. it was not easy to get it through customs, Washington state. After the fact a broker got involved and he was able to make it happen using the right lingo, yes it is getting harder and as time goes may be impossible. Before you jump make sure the European engine has US EPA certification as many do from the factory and it will be easier. Luckily my model engine did as they were used in the US
In 98-99.!

Those are the three I obtained. I have been hesitant to respond to anyone regarding anything - the vitriol shown in the eBay requests to me has been unbelievable.

I wanted this truck. I know how to do it. I sold two to pay for my one.

Guys, I just want to sell a car. Bid. Don't bid. It doesn't matter to me. I have 10 people begging me to take a deposit on these at $80k, and I won't take it until they look at the truck in person.

I'm sorry if my figuring out how to do it has upset so many people. If I had any idea it would have been like this, I just would have sold both to the 4WD distributor down the road. I certainly would have kept it much more private.

How you cheated, huh?

Ahem ..... is this you?
