I say we take him out back behind the shed and beat the s*** out of him.

I look forward to seeing people in my garage this Saturday.

Those are the three I obtained. I have been hesitant to respond to anyone regarding anything - the vitriol shown in the eBay requests to me has been unbelievable.

I wanted this truck. I know how to do it. I sold two to pay for my one.

Guys, I just want to sell a car. Bid. Don't bid. It doesn't matter to me. I have 10 people begging me to take a deposit on these at $80k, and I won't take it until they look at the truck in person.

I'm sorry if my figuring out how to do it has upset so many people. If I had any idea it would have been like this, I just would have sold both to the 4WD distributor down the road. I certainly would have kept it much more private.

I expected "hey, that's awesome!". I never expected "let's figure out how he cheated".

Don't hate
Michael

I think you're awesome, way to go! Can't afford one this time around, but I'll likely get in on the next batch. Hell yeah!

Wow! That is awesome Michael, bravo, congrats on bringing these in the U.S. don't know how you did it but glad there here. I'll start saving $ and get back to you,
ha ha , cheers glws

If this is legit, I'd love to buy it and own it. But several people are still waiting for an email with the evidence that the vehicle has been federalized. I for one don't care how that was done, If it's legit, I'm a buyer. Follow through with providing the information and then there can be no question about it.

I'm sure you can understand a potential buyer's concern. It's very possible to get a vehicle like this into the country and titled locally. It's a completely different scenario (and value) to federalize one of these vehicles and make it legal without reproach. You've figured this out, and that is fantastic. Send out the proof of federalization and instead of 10 people begging to pay $80K, you'll have 20, and I'll be one of them (at least one, maybe two!).

getting them on American soil is the easy part, relatively speaking. The US gov't brings 70 series trucks here all the time, for upfit and then shipped back out.

Getting a title/insurance/license plate, all while wondering when the feds are gonna come knocking is the hard part.

Lots of Skylines/Defenders/G wagons were imported too.....then crushed.

I know no one on this forum, so please forgive me if I am not aware of what you do or do not know - I'm assuming people here have imported cars before, so I hope I can make this understandable - I'm a terrible teacher.

There is an enormous difference between the following three;

- Importing a vehicle for show that is almost impossible to get on the road (Bill Gates importing a Porsche 959 that sat at the dock and was never used, a European Lamborghini with carbs, etc.)

- Being a company named Toyota and importing a federalized vehicle, say a Camry, that has been crash tested, NHTSA certified, and can be imported without review every day

- How I did it.

I may be mis-understanding how you are using the word "Federalized" - to me that is being Toyota, crash testing 20 of the same model cars, and having an entire class of cars accepted into the country AS BUILT. I in no way attempted to have the l79 "Federalized" as I understand it, because I do not plan on importing boatloads of them. I did all that was necessary to pass a total federal, state, EPA, and USDOT rectal exam.

I capitalized AS BUILT. You notice that?

With that being said, I don't WANT to sell 20, 10 is fine. If I was to choose between selling 10 to people who want to come up & look at the cars, examine and confirm the paperwork, or sell 20 who would give me, my life, and my process a complete enema and share it on the web for all to see, I'll take the 10 sales every day plus Sunday.

Anyway, I just wanted to share. Sorry if I sound rough, just tired. Not used to this much attention - I have a wife & three girls - I have enough drama in my life!

I do wish all of you the best - PM me if you will be interested in any of these in the future, and I truly look forward to meeting some of you this weekend.

Regards,
Michael

as built?

maybe they came in a crate as parts....that's one way of doing it.

I'm in no way hating, just very curious.
This way will get it in your driveway. Not titled, unable to register, and would be confiscated as soon as it was assembled/started. They are getting much tougher on loose engines as well.

As you mentioned in your ebay message, if you could provide photos of the compliance stickers and documentation, that's good enough to answer any questions! I'd love to be a buyer, but you can't blame someone for asking basic questions. You've already said you would provide the photos so no worries, that would be great.

Dodgy answers only add to the suspicion floating around that you're seeing. Sorry you're getting guff from folks. I'm a serious buyer, just asking serious questions.

Let me clarify - I forgot to put it in there - They all have that nice pretty EPA sticker at USDOT VIN tag with COO Data.

Awesome! Looking forward to the photos. I'm getting excited.

Ok, I figured the seller would show up on here. That's good to know. Looking forward to seeing where this auction goes. I'm interested, but I don't know if I can make it in at the price points. I for sure would love to see more stateside, especially if they are legal!
